Slow Performance with G-Sync

(PixelTwitch) #1

So in the main menu you now have VSYNC forced to on due to just how bad coherent ui is.

However, this causes some issues for users that have a G-Sync enabled monitor as you need to disable V-Sync to get it to work. So, even though G-Sync works great in game we need to go though the main menus at often sub 10fps in order to reach a game., This makes the game feel horrendous!

You need to either check for Gsync before forcing Vsync or give Gsync users a console command or something to fix it.

Rr even better get rid of coherent ui lol

As noted in another thread, the main menu UI feels really sluggish when I have G-Sync enabled. Particularly noticeable during Case openings.

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64-bit
GFX: GeForce GTX970 v.347.52
RAM: 8GB
CPU: i5-4670K @ 3.4GHz

As mentioned running with G-Sync on, which in game works a treat.

Just want to confirm this…

Also montheponies, if you set smoothframerate to a max of 120 the UI works fine but obviously we want out 144

When G-sync is enabled and with 144 stable FPS, the menu in DB feels like I have around 1FPS. Its extremely slow and non responsive. If I disable G-sync I get 400 in the menu and its a bit better, but still not “amazing”. Also when you are ingame and trying to open menus, it would appear that the drop down boxes, like the one you get for crosshair size does not work.

In game I run the game perfectly smooth with a stable 144fps and almost no drop or performance issues.

gtx 780ti newest win10 64 newest WHQL drivers.

I believe its coherent UI showing its ugly face once again.

EDIT:
If you edit your ShooterEngine.ini files with the following line:

MaxSmoothFrameRate=120

It appears to be fixed, for some players. Which is silly for people with 144hz screens. This should be looked at and fixed.

Also mentioned here, here, here, here and a possible explanation is located here.

A fix or “working on it” would be great.
