skyhammer's airstrike help. (noob question)

(blufflord) #1

This is pretty nooby, but I cant seem to figure out how the airstrike works because when i chuck it onto the ev, sometimes it goes across it and sometime it goes alongside it and barely damages it. How do you know where its gonna land?

(Mr-Penguin) #2

Airstrike comes in perpendicular to the direction Skyhammer is facing when the marker is thrown.

(MvMArcher) #3

It goes perpendicular from where you throw it.

You are Skyhammer at “A” the marker lands at “B” and the airstrike goes along “C” to “D”

Hope this helps

oh wow, right,i get it. I was wondering why it always seemed to change direction XD
Thanks you all

I have a few sky hammer airstrike tip videos on my YouTube chan if you want to check them out;

Something I always like to do is to throw my airstrike in front of the EV or right next to it from one of its sides so that the bombs land all the way from the front to the back, it’s guaranteed to destroy it with no risk of leaving a bit of HP left and usually gets a couple of kills on people behind the EV.

There, fixed that for ya!

Also, there are times if you throw the marker right underneath the EV, it’ll count as a grenade (since it does not register sky-access) only without calling in an airstrike. Least happened to me last time pre-Containment War update, don’t know for sure if this has been fixed or if I recall completely wrong.

One more thing: if the marker explodes under the EV it will consider it to be an “in doors” explosion and no airstrike will be called, giving you back 75% of the cool down time to try again.

EDIT: only now did I see that @coolFortress had already addressed this…

@coolFortress Not a bug afaik :slight_smile:

Thought so, used quite incorrectly term “fixed” there instead of something else, my post was already getting long-ish for today’s short question-short answer standards so I decided to leave more detailed explanation out. Which @Lumi however did short’n’nicely there, thanks!
