skybox
finaly a question i can answer, now skyboxes a funny in the way they work
when you are in the editor there texture loolks realy crappy but dont mind this, if you can see a skybox surface you will not see the texture like in the editor but like you are looking at a sky
if there is a angle in the skybox e.g. using multiple brushes eachsurface on a different plane or in other words making a corner, it doesnt matter the blend seamlessly, you can even be 2 foot from a skybox and it will look like you are looking onto the distance
however i surgest only using 1 sky texture per skybox i think you would create a seam where the 2 textures meet (neva tried)
so if you make a box around you map with sky textures it should just look like a sky, (one more point remember to caulk the other surfaces of your skyboxes as they are larges surfaces and waste memory and increase compliling times
i would recoment experementing
the pick you see in the editor is a good guide as it looks like the final sky will but smaller
be warned, skyboxes also give of light so you have to pick the right one to get a good atmosphere, ther are several nice day1’s in rtcw but each gives a very different atmospher
