Skybox problem

(Lunar) #1

I have two very simple box maps. They both have fueldumpsky for the ceiling texture.

One of them shows the sky properly, and the other shows a light-blue void. I can’t figure out what is wrong with it. It is the same void I have when I apply the Spiegel texture to a brush.

I have no fog or any other effects present.

The editor window shows the sky texture applied in both maps, but in one of them it renders in the game engine as a light-blue-tinted void. It taks no damage if you throw a grenade through it, or launch a panzerfaust through it, so the shader script must be doing something.

The texture has a white border around it in the texture editor.

What am I doing wrong. :???:

Thanks

are you sure you have the exact same texture apllied?
they may look the same in the editor, but aren’t the same
in the game. plenty of those sky textures have broken
shaders. fueldumpsky works well as far as i can tell…

Here are the two lines from the map files for the faces of the brushes that have the sky texture:

This works: ( 576 322 679 ) ( 0 322 679 ) ( 0 -190 679 ) fueldump/fueldumpsky 0 4 0 0.499968 0.499968 0 0 0

This does not: ( 520 480 496 ) ( -504 480 496 ) ( -504 -544 496 ) fueldump/fueldumpsky 16 0 0 0.500000 0.500000 0 0 0

They both look the same in the editor window.

Can anyone see why?
