hey guys, some new and improved screenshots of Sky High Radar.
they are all in this thread too :smiley:

OLD

  • i have added mountains instead of the wall going around the side of the trenches, i have added many more stuff not shown in pics, but you can see the side passageway. The shot is taken of the allied entrance of the passage way, looking out towards the trenches.

looks good! too bad ppl can turn off snow and rain!! but yeah it’s lookin pretty good, but I think that there’s not really enough place for ā€œcoverā€ā€¦the only thing keeping ppl from the enemy is the distance fog really…the trenches are ok, but if you used the ā€œslickā€ ice brush on them it’s probably pretty hard to maneuver…all in all looks like it has a bunch of potential…objectives?

me and some of my team would be more than glad to help you test it :slight_smile:

Name - Sky High Radar (maybe changed later)

Completion - 40%

Number of Objs - Axis - Build Command Post.
Protect the Trench wall.
Protect the Main Gate.
Protect the Radar works,

                       Allies - Destroy Trench Wall
                                  Build Command Post - different one (i probably will decide that if you build this command post, you get a forward spawn point in a little hut)
                                   Destroy Main Gate (at the base of the three storey bunker, which leads to objective)
                                   Destroy the Axis radar works (which is on the roof of a three storey bunker)

Situation - Norway (no not me, the map =) )
Enviromental effects - Snow and Fog

I am adding more trees for cover, the axis have three bunker (two of two storey’s and one of three). i havent used the slidy ice terrain, i have used normall hard surface terrain.

pm me please how many i shall put down for beta testing - you and only two more people though, i want people out of forums to test it.

I love seeing map pics as much as the next guy but two different threads in two days about the same map?

Just my opinion.

On a more pleasant note, there are definitely some improvements. It is coming along.

I will mention that the light on the hills look kinda tacky and unrealistic…where’s it being powered from? maybe if it were a snow covered building or something…nothing major, but just an opinion…working on mapping for the first time myself, and I just can’t get the curved patches/brushes to work properly, but like I said I’m new and getting it rather quickly :slight_smile:

It seems a good start !
I hope the perimeter wall around the map will go at the end cause it does not look realistic at all. I suggest that you reaplce it by mountains, forest, … and extend the view beyond actual playable area to reinforce the feeling you are in a real world.

The reason i have done this is because in the last thread there was no screenshots in the post, and now there is. it is easier for people this way. and easier for me too.

There are lights coming from the axis bunker not visible on the screenshots :slight_smile:

Yes…! its what i have planned, im gone have big mountains on the side :slight_smile:

That would be cool to have to destroy the large radar antenna seen in Radar map rather the stealing radar boxes on small disc radar.

Thanks a lot for the links, im studying them right now, and have concluded to add some snow rocks in my trenches :slight_smile: it will give extra cover, i may also sneak in a little something extra in the map, which i hope all of you will see of as a cool feature, and will link this map into a campaign :), but you’ll have to find it first :wink:
