hi am new on this site have been looking around here and there so i was wondering is there a program like radiant for chanching skinns and stuff and moddels.
or isnt there any of thous. :bored:

Modding is slightly more complicated then mapping…
Skins are made by hand after a model has been completed, models are made in a 3D program and exported to a certain format (like md3) and so on.

Try to search on this forum to know more, but be prepared for quite some things to learn if you’re serious about it.

you don’t need radiant to change skins and stuff and models.
Just unpack the pak0.pk3 (rename it to zip)
Then toss everything out that you didn’t change and rezip it and rename to pk3
That’s about what I always do.

You can make new skins with any graphic program.
As P4nth3r said all of the textures are in the pak0.pk3 files.
pk3-files are renamed zip files.
So you can unzip them.

Playerskins are in the “models/players” subdirectory.
A good start is always to take a look at existing mods.

use pakscape, don’t change it to .zip

Heh, WinRAR can open PK3’s as well, only creating one involves renaming.
