strange , i never had problems with it but…
i made a box around my map (to prevent leaks etc) then loaded sky textured, and pasted them on these brushes
but when i play the map, i see them all appart… mean like u see it in radiant :???:

you need to make sure that the sky texture is correlated to a working sky shader.
