tbh i dont like at all the big box attached to the riffle .
Its BIG and I feel like having a lot of weight in my arm

Yup i have to agree, from first impressions the sniper rifles do not feel like snipers at all really in this game for me.

  • They look too similar to typical LMG models.
  • The general size of the gun on my screen looks massive but i think this is the same with most guns at the moment,
  • The sound when firing feels like a silenced pistol which confuses my brain
  • Also the default level of zoom when in scope i feel is a little too far in for the size of these maps - maybe its just the situations i find myself in close quarters.

same here…zoom is too far and the sight-circle of the scope (when you are zoomed in) is too small
and please NO hold breath control…its very useless in infights…another problem is the knockback
from the crosshair after every shot…it makes me sick <- the other weapons are too
dominant for that “feature” it is a big disadvantage for the sniper.
the size of the weapon is too big and the sound should be louder and harder…

Maybe SD has already designed multiple snipers but these have not yet been released in the game.

We know for sure there will be bigger maps in the future and having a long range sniper will become handy in such cases. Would be nice to have a short range sniper with burst fire and a long range, slow firing sniper to choose from. Again, it is too soon to tell and we do not have the full disclosure on their upcoming work, so be patient ^^ But this is good to point that the current sniper has some flaws, we can only help improve.

For the size of the weapons, it is normal for now, the Unreal Engine only allows big sized models for now, the guys at SD will do the necessary work to make them smaller, already discussed in this thread :

Agree, don’t know what weapon it’s based on, but that massive mag to the side is very visually unappealing.

I find it nice, it changes from other snipers in other dull games. And when you use the sniper you use the scope, so it does not disturb at all.

I would like to see how it looks with weapon size’s reduction before altering the 3D mesh.

Am I the only one finding that the sniper rifle is OP?

I mean I suck at aiming and can do 2 feet shots with it and get a free kill, I use it like I would use railgun on instagib…

So, today I used nothing but the sniper and tbh I honestly think it needs more damage. There should be no reason you can shoot a medic in the chest twice and have him survive. Unless its a head shot its really tough to get a kill because of how fast the guys move.

That would be my only compliant of the sniper, more damage!!!
