Since the game tracks stats...

Would it be possible to get some type of…well lets call it a equalizer system in?

I’d say about 70% or more of my matches today were of one team completely dominating the other…talking 15 minutes and couldn’t come close to completing just one objective.

My idea would be a system that acknowledges all of the players stats and if one team is clearly leaps and bounds superior to the other it would require less votes for a swap.

I don’t know if this would even be possible but it’s a idea if it is…I’m just getting sick of being out classed by a whole team so much and all the other team does is laugh and call people salty while they sail into a easy win.

Pretty much describing the toils of implementing a working matchmaking/autobalance system. Whilst I don’t personally find it all that bad, it could probably use some work. The topic sure comes up often enough.

Yeah. We don’t have enough threads about balance. But SD/Nexon yet to notice or reply to them.

Sorry…it just gets incredibly frustrating to lose game after game after game…even played a match against a team that a player that was level 90 something.

If getting a even game is like winning the lottery it can drive people away…

They have addressed those questions. First off, it’s a pub and in any game on any pub there isn’t ever going to be perfect balance at all times. And even when there is supposedly good balance between players who are fairly evenly skilled there can still be stomps. I mean, go look at any high end competitive game with players who are amazing on the top teams. Sometimes a map is super close. Other times it’s a stomp.

Then you throw in factors like the extreme ranges of skill on a regular pub, the fact that people could be playing any of three mercs, the fact that teams might not have people willing to play an engineer or medic or know how to play them well etc. etc.

The current system already looks at stats that goes back further than your last 10 games (recent change but I don’t know how many games). Every player has an estimated skill value that is hidden and the game uses it to try and balance matches. But no system ever will perfectly balance every single match…especially pubs.

I know that’s not what some people want to hear. And no, I am not saying they shouldn’t make strong efforts to try and make it better. I’ve come up with a few suggestions of how it could be done better but I also realize that almost all of them will not fix the issue entirely and it would require, in some cases, a ton of work that might be of little realistic value. Again, not something some people want to hear but that’s the truth of the matter.

And this is coming from a guy who gets heavily screwed when it comes to the sorting system. Even with that I understand why it plays out as it does sometimes.

It just frustrates the hell out of me…I take a break…few days or few weeks or so and cool down…just come back to the same 9 out of 10 games just get railroaded by the other team and the lowest scorer on their team trash talks.

I know nothing is perfect but honestly if finding a fair game, much less a winning game is like 1 in a million…I’m not gonna beat those odds and at some point it feels like I will just be better off quitting the game for good…

Sure, you’re right. They can’t balance based on skill. But they can balance games where one team has 2+ more people than their enemies. Retrospectively I must admit, my reply wasn’t really fitting into this thread since I disagree with the idea itself. But auto-balancing should still be a thing if teams ate heavily unbalanced based on the player numbers.
