Since PC controls aren't yet final...

Well RtCW didn’t have ironsight or melee, so it wasn’t an issue at the time :stuck_out_tongue:

In all honesty I might look for a mouse with better button configurations. Anyone got an improvement suggestion on my existing G5?

(trigg3r) #23

i honestly couldnt care less about default control configurations, since the first thing i allways do before getting in game is checking the keyboard and mouse configuration and change it to my liking

yes, Microsoft Sidewinder, all because of the stacked thumb buttons. I had a mouse with I think 9 buttons (mouse 1-3, scroll up, scroll back, tilt left, tilt right, two thumb), I coud only use one thumb button and half the time I tried to use a tilt wheel button I accidentally clicked mouse 3.

The sdiewinder doesn’t have tilt, but I already figured out i couldn’t use it. What it has is two thumb buttons I can actually use. It has other stuff two, but it’s the thumb buttons that do it for me.

I have 2 g5 (old and new model), I’ve tried g500 but I really think g5 is better. I’m using g700 right now, not a pure FPS mouse but I like it.

i have a razer imperator. the two thumb buttons are on a slider letting you adjust positions, which is pretty nice, i never had thumb buttons in as good as spot for my thumb as it is on this mouse. plus it has 5600 dpi and finally the main reason i bought it: Up to 200 inches per second/ 50g acceleration (very nice if you play at low sensitivities and often need to move the mouse across the pad very quickly but want consistent results)

Roccat KONE all the way

I mean, the mouse can even store macros :expressionless:

AutoHotKey… Can do any script you like with it. Also, could possibly send cvar message to brink console when some button is pressed and such.

So here’s confirmation that it doesn’t:

Back in E3, I saw a vid where Ed Stern was walking a player through as they played, and I heard him say something about the sticky bomb taking the place of the regular nade. Maybe I miheard him, maybe they changed it since then.

Could be it still does, but if so I would expect something like an alt weapon ability like in ETQW, left click to throw it right click to stick it to a wall (strogg) or roll it (GDF). Oh wait, can’t do that cause it’s one button nade throw :frowning:

Or, it could be both, some nades are upgrades (regular nade upgraded to stick nade) and some are just different things (nade vs molotov). But in this case, it sounds like you equip the right one into a slot, and then it’s the one which gets tossed when you click your one button throw.

…so, I still want the ability to use the scroll wheel to just scroll through only various subsets of weapons. Better yet, make toggles for lots of things:

  1. Main weapon/secondary weapon toggle (like in my OP).
  2. nade toggle (molotov to nade to whatever back to start).
  3. Whatever else acts like the nades where you equip it to a slot before your single button use key is pressed.
