Simple food for thought idea

It was probably discussed a lot before, but what if deployables cooldown did NOT start until they are destroyed (or go at a slower speed, f.ex. 50%). Personally I think it’s sometimes way too easy to spam deployables coughhealth stationcoughminescough. Plus it would make reclaiming them more appealing and destroying them would actually make a difference for a longer time.

Deployables I think should be affected by this:

-Health and Ammo Station

-Proxy mines

-Fletcher stickies (but our good ol’ meatball rubber needs fixing and buffing doe)

-Bushwhacker turret (same)

-Heartbeat Sensor/Snitch (but allow sensor to be reclaimed)

-Turtle shield (if he still has it and it’s destroyable when he’s added)

My most played merc is Aura at around 90 hours, and I wholeheartedly agree with a “Start the cooldown when the station is destroyed” kind of aproach, perhaps not the current full cooldown.
I can’t count the amount of times I’ve insta replaced a destroyed station with a new shiny one. And I’ve also felt the frustration myself while playing other mercs and taking out a station, just to see it replaced instantly.

So yeah, I overall like the idea, but think the cooldowns should be reduced a bit as well if it got implemented.

maybe it goes down to 35% of max cool down, until destroyed it stays at 35% and decreases at 75% of the normal rate?

I’m just spouting out numbers here, otherwise they could do other things to balance deployables.

@sgtCrookyGrin Interesting idea, but I suspect new players would get butthurt and call abilities “broken” etc. without proper information about this ?

Ew… nerfing the third worst character in the game…

(GatoCommodore) #6

but if you think about it, it will reduce proxy pizza delivery!
why arent the SD implement this?

If you want to nerf pizza delivery, just make Proxy’s mines completely useless and give her a means to defend in a more effective manner.

For example, a crossbow, or an active denial system against projectiles.

Hell, the latter actually might make sense for Proxy, and the former for Fletcher. I think I got the two abilities in the wrong spots!

@JJMAJR Who do you mean by 3rd worst merc ?

Look at my profile pic.

Don’t like the idea of a nerf across the board which might screw up balance for specific mercs caught in it when instead you can simply say “X and Y deployables are OP pls nurf” and only affect those select mercs.

Well I might not have made it clear but I said both Bushie and Fletcha need fixing and buffs
