At first, match making attempts to find players on a similar level than you. The longer it cannot find similar players, it gets more and more desperate and eventually lumps everything together that remotely looks like something that can walk on two feet and hold a gun.

I feel your pain my last two matches were against a cobalt officier while i was a silver master… it was not fun.

We, the high ranks, don’t like being matched with silvers and bronzes either. The current algorithm ends up putting everyone in the same game regardless of their rank and that’s better than no game at all. (it is almost impossible to find games once you reach cobalt, maybe even as high gold)

There just aren’t enough people available for a narrower match composition plus people duo with their friends of vastly different ranks.

Then you have people like me who should be much higher than Silver Officer so when I face a Cobalt it’s not a problem, but my teams are always clueless so that just increases my chance to lose and only derank more. :’(

Seriously sucks that there’s still a lack of players in NA (not so sure about EU). There’s even less players right now because the system defaults to EU servers every time you load up the game. Hoping that gets fixed soon. D:

It’s a pretty big pain when you get grouped against a duo of hardcore elite level players disguised as a high gold and cobalt while your team of bronzes and silvers, and then you, are completely decimated. One match, it got to the point, where the Cobalt player’s medic would knife fight with me because he was bored, and it was hopeless for my team. The rest of my teammates didn’t even get the EV repaired on the first objective on Bridge.

I had one game where my team got close to 0 kills. That was on Terminal I believe. I had a few unranked players and a low gold (who wasn’t very good) and we faced off against a Cobalt and some a gold or two. I decided to just go Kiratana and mess around until the game ended because my team was hopeless so I feel your pain!

Also, I always leave bridge out of the queue because people are clueless, both low and high ranks. It’s really difficult to carry on Bridge because of the narrow passage. I mean, you can do it if you go engi and get the EV repaired, but then the generator part is where the team gets even more clueless lol. Chapel and Dome are my loves though <3 Won so many games with little to no help from my team. Kawwwwaaaaiiiiii

It wouldn’t be so bad if the low ranks listened to the better players when they’re told to play a certain class etc. Personally my main issue isn’t low skilled people but stubborn people who refuse to listen or use common sense and end up playing 3 proxy etc. Perhaps this wouldn’t be as bad if SD increased the lobby time from 30 seconds to 60 seconds (or longer) in order to have time to check your team’s mercs. I always have to check my teammates’ squad in a hurry and end up being screwed by the game and not be able to change a merc in the last 10 seconds due to game freeze. Thank god we have 80 second warmup and 80 second mid-game warmup (which didn’t even get fixed, the timer starts from 30 and freezes at 0 for another minute).

How can I win 9 games out of 10 placements and be placed Silver ? Then, my team is composed with LVL 10’s. How am I supposed to rank up ? So I don’t mind facing golds, I do face them on MIN 20. I do mind beeing paired with LVL 10’s.

I did my placement matches, and played like, 2 actual matches, said “f*** this both actually ranked games I’ve played had a quitter” and haven’t played since.

I should probably hook up with my clan and actually try to be part of a party so that nobody quits…

Barely anyone uses voice chat in game anyway, doubt it would help that much to have it in lobby, it would just be everyone talking over one another anyway (if people did use it) due to having only 30 seconds to get what you want to say out. The lobby chat in this case is still more efficient, even though that never gets used either.

Never is a strong word… I frequently have teammates using it, especially at this point in the season where only the really dedicated, and the really newb remain.

My issue though, is that they don’t have anything nice or USEFUL to offer. half the time some argument starts because some faggot starts telling everyone what to do while cussing at them. We literally lost a game today because three people ended up TK ing eachother instead of guarding the last objective on bridge. I haven’t been more pissed at a team until today.
