Silent nerfs. SD, why are you doing this?

(Tanker_Ray) #1

I was going to rant about this, and I think now it’s the time.

MAY BE THERE IS MORE OF IT, but I can only pick out one of them which is

Bush’s turret CD has nerfed to 35 sec from 30 sec after •Reduced Turret set-up duration to 1.6s (from 2.0s) buff he got at 2016/05/18 Unlock and Load update. Patch note deceived all Bush users by not notifying the CD nerf.

I mean, why are you guys patching this without ANY warning?

As I’m going to write a thread about Bush, I just can’t tolerate this furthermore as I played Bush over 180 hours.

Do you guys know it’s 12 sec when you reclaim your turret right after placing it right now?

Accumulated by that 65% CD reclaim merf.

Why did he deserved such nerf without single notification.

This is a bit disturbing part of DB lately. Worried about other things might change like this at future.

EDIT: Looter augment wasn’t nerfed! I’m sorry for typing wrong infos.

Out of the topic but Damn it, if it was half-mag all the time, it really needs buff!

(Szakalot) #2

are you sure about the looter nerf? I thought its always half an ammopack (just like one ‘tick’ from the ammo box)

Definitely agree that silent nerfs are horrible, though I blame lack of diligence than some sinister conspiracy to avoid releasing patch changes.

Wouldn’t go as far to as as its the ‘most disturbing part of DB lately’, but its def not cool. And yeah, bush’s nerfes were completely unwarranted, esp. the turrent reclaim cooldown nerf.

(Orivar) #3

Dam… I do hate playing Bush because of the big CD… Now it is even worse that I know it…

I can tell you “dont worry the game will die soon” but I dont want to say it because I am waiting for Dockyard and I dont want the game to die before I can play on Dockyard :frowning:

Edit : I think I was overconfident with my memories.

Just found out 2015 August R22 Proxy youtube vid that shows Looter augment gave him half-mag.

I’m sorry about this. Revised right away.

May be I was wrong. But I still remember I got 35 rounds(M4) when I ate it… is my memory fxcked up?

well, at least the Bush is true though.

I really dont see a reason to not post it, I honestly believe they just forgot, happens alot in other games.

(TheStrangerous) #6

They fear us, the community, 1 small change can cause BIG outrage.

(Eox) #7

Okay okay, I will just say what I always say on the Warframe forums when I see those kind of threads.

If you state a change that wasn’t mentionned in the patch notes, it’s probably wiser to consider it as a bug until further notice from a staff member (even if it does not look like one). Why am I saying this ? Because Digital Extremes suffers very oftenly from the same accusations, but we very oftenly end up discovering a few days later that the so called “stealth nerf” was actually a bug or a leak from a test version. Of course there’s sometimes an intended change without any mention in the patch notes, but those cases are very rare, and I definitely think that when it happens it’s more an error without any intention of harming the community.

Keep in mind the following : first, you, as players, will always discover hidden changes on day or another. Second, Splash Damage has nothing to earn from trying to trick the community like that. You can conclude than trying to hide nerfs from the community is definitely bad for business : it is very unlikely that Splash Damage would hide nerfs on purpose.

(jokingShale) #8

If that was the case they would have made sure to tell us. Stealth nerfs anger communities a lot more than regular ones, and they’re always found quickly.

In my opinion the change was probably a mistake.

(Amerika) #9

Exactly what @Eox said. Please don’t start panic threads to bash people when there is a good possibility that the change could have be a bug or it was an intended change that simply wasn’t communicated due to an oversight. There have been similar issues in the past so lets not jump to conclusions. I’m going to close this thread due to it’s nature but I am also putting out some inquiries as to whether or not this is a bug or an intended change that wasn’t communicated and a mod or a CM will give an update.

(Chris Mullins) #10

This was an error on our side. The change was intended, but we missed adding the change to the patch notes. I’ll add it in now. Thank you!

(Tanker_Ray) #11

Thanks… but why… why did he need that nerf…?

It still doesn’t explain why he deserved such nerf…

Why…?

(Tanker_Ray) #12

@Amerika @Eox

It’s not that I’m panicking or something. It just made me frustrated that this kind of thing is happening in DB, the game I love the most whether it was really forgotten by someone or silent nerf.

Eventhough it was a real bug or forgotten part, is it right to just skip the whole part by saying : OMG, my bad! I’m sorry! I FORGOT to write it! BUT, You should understand this!

What if it was REALLY a silent nerf, but the part users pointed out were all covered by

‘Everthing was intentional from the beginning!’ Statement.

Do players have to accept the whole thing just because I heard that statement?

‘Those things can happen’ only explains that those are phenomenons, but something that can happen doesn’t mean it is ok to happen.

If the thing wasn’t in patch note for two monthes, whatelse can I think about, other than silent nerf.

I am not appealing to public sentiment to bash SD. I’ve seen numerous silent nerfs, patches through out my whole online FPS game such as A.V.A and Combat Arms.

and it’s not something that players can skip about, just because all the changes were intended from the start.

(Amerika) #13

Going immediately to “why the silent nerfs” isn’t the course of action you should take in a situation like this. Bringing up the subject, considering that it might be a bug or something that was supposed to be communicated but due to an oversight wasn’t, and asking about it is much better than trying to incite anger among players.

Also, after talking with a few people from SD, it would appear that Bushwhacker has always had a 35 second timer on his turret. However, this website shows that it is 30 seconds (not accurate).

Since Shoe cleared up the reclaim, the looter thing being proved to not be accurate and the same for the turrets I am re-closing this thread. If you want to start up a new thread asking about the reclaim change or anything else, feel free.
