Hi

We would like to let you know that there is the new version of silEnT mod already available: 0.5.0.

Please, don’t be afraid to try it, we won’t bite and the mod itself is a really decent proposition to all of the Enemy Territory fans.

OK, enough of the empty talk, let’s get to the point

This release is mainly the server side release, we would say. Just take a look below and you will know why.

First of all, what the new 0.5.0 version brings is the new silEnT GUID which replaces the PB one everywhere, however the old PB GUID compatibility is provided. So if someone wants to still have the PB GUID - no problem, do it.
Another important thing to mention is the Admin Protection Level (ALP - as we abbreviate it), which is the mechanism with which the server can ensure that admins on protected levels are properly authenticated.
There is also new log file available for eneblement by server admins which if enabled will store all the non gaming related information. This log file can be defined with g_cheatLog config cvar.
Among all the server side commands available you can now find the new one: dboptimize. It’s quite self explanatory, but we encourage you to read the documentation before using it.
The last but not least from the major 0.5.0 features is the latest Omnibot support. This means that the cooperation between us and Omnibot team brings you now new possibilities and those are, official Omnibot support for the tripmines and PPSh (tripmines can now be planted by bots).

Traditionally, the change log:

[ul]

[li]Added: dboptimize server console command. Read the manual for more information.Do note that this command is server resource intensive and should not be used often.
[/li][li] Added: support for revive spree sounds. Admins can add custom sound files revive3.wav, revive5.wav and revive10.wav under the sound/announces if they like.
[/li][li] Added: g_XPSaveMinXP, when this value is set to above 0 or above, the XP save system will use different timestamp for the XP save then the rest of the database. This allows cvars like g_XPSaveMaxAge_xp to work correctly.
[/li][li] Added: referee hack attempts are logged
[/li][li] Added: Admin Level Protection (ALP), with this mechanism, the server can ensure that admins on protected levels are properly authenticated
[/li][li] Added: silEnT GUID, the new silEnT GUIDs replace the PB GUIDs in everywhere, but compatibility is provided for the old PB GUIDs also
[/li][li] Added: g_cheatLog, server will log all non gaming related information into this log if enabled
[/li][li] Added: debriefing, mouse wheel scrolling of the lists when the cursor is over the list, not only over the scroll bar
[/li][li] Added: omnibot support for tripmines (tripmines can be planted by bots)
[/li][li] Fixed: vote blocking will not block referee commands
[/li][li] Fixed: missing original mouse cursor in the menus for Windows builds
[/li][li] Fixed: silenced colt anim bug
[/li][li] Fixed: XP for team kills made with tripmines:http://mygamingtalk.com/forums/tracker/issue-112-xp-for-tks/
[/li][li] Reworked: tripmines can’t be destroyed when they are not armed, now it takes 2 shots instead of 1 to destroy the tmine.
[/li][/ul]

I noticed on 0.4.0 that the Referee menu starts polls, and it still does…

silEnT mod is owning! New GUID system rocks!

You can test this great mod and its features on sKy-e clan’s fun server:

Everyone’s welcome!

What do you mean it starts polls? Do you mean that when you are the referee and enter the “referee” menu the poll is started? If you have something to add in this matter please do it in our bug tracker, I opened a defect for it here: http://mygamingtalk.com/forums/tracker/issue-126-from-sd-forums-referee-menu-starts-polls/

Hello.
Maybe stupid question, but how can I check players’ guids on this mod? Is there a command like \guids in etpro?

(gaoesa) #6

You can use admin commands !list and !finger.

Sorry, I have re-read my leader post, and it seems the Ref menu just behave like a poll: you can use it five times, or the poll limit defined, per map.

Not sure it is still the case, just giving details
