Side Routes

(rapidEgg) #1

From the last beta I played in, Chapel and Terminal where the only maps available and these maps have a lot of issues. There aren’t any side routs to get out and around the other team. Both maps fallow a linear path past the objectives, paths that are easy to cut off from only a few locations. This happens in Chapel constantly while the EV is on the move and makes defending the wall in Terminal a total mess.

A map like Chapel needs good side routes to get around snipers who are watching the main highway as well as all of the other bit open areas in that map.

There are also many paths that lead to dead ends, such as the path left in Chapel from the defending teams spawn near the construction lift. I see many players, myself included, heading to these locations expecting a route to be there, only to find that there isn’t one.

Regarding this particular spot, trickjumps can get you over the small passage in the corner, leading to a terrace thingy overlooking the street level.

It was only during the second beta that I even realized the game has a parkour system. It wasn’t covered in the tutorial and nothing in the controls hints at it. What I would like to see is some kind of parkour training ground added to the games tutorial that you can select on it’s own and use to practice jumping around. Also, it would be nice to be able to load up the maps offline so you can run around them and practice without having to worry about getting shot while doing it, or letting your team down.
