I normally fly solo in online games, but given how random matchmaking is in Dirty Bomb (nvm the lack of in-game friend adding), Im forced to look for a clan here. This is the first time Ive used Steam with a PC game. Ive usually just avoided Steam if I am able to, and just use developers client.
Now at first I didn’t much enjoy Dirty Bomb, since Im used to playing shooters that are a little slower paced and more realistic looking…but the team based objective style of play hooked me. As well as the variety and uniqueness of each merc. Everything feels decently balanced too. I just like playing in a team environment where everyone has their strengths and weaknesses … where you must work together to win.
Problem is that too many people come into this game and play it like Call of Duty. Its frustrating to always play games where there is no teamwork or people don’t communicate. Sure, not everyone uses a mic, but even using the chat would be enough to make matches more competitive.
Its super frustrating and I would just like to build my friend list or join up with a well organized clan. Right now Im at level 8, and I tend to use Proxy, Aura, and a miscellaneous merc to complete the objective. I always make sure to repair or plant when Im supposed to…and heal my teammates when needed. I also am good at strategically placing mines, health stations, and defending barrier points, etc.
Hopefully I can find some people to consistently play with…or Dirty Bomb soon leaves Beta and adds in-game adding of friends or room creation. Sometimes I just stop playing for the evening because I get sick of playing with fools who belong in Call of Duty. And you wouldnt believe some of the people I see arguing about how pro they are and bashing someones KD ratio…meanwhile the team is losing.
I swear some folks dont understand that you can be in first place, and win with a high score despite a crappy KDR. Smh…I digress
