Sick and tired of getting no support in this game.

Submit ticket after ticket, all of them getting auto closed do to Nexon seemly wiping their hands of any involvement with the game do to it being a beta.

You tell people to submit tickets, I have repeatedly told you about this issue. You personally told me to make a ticket and even have submit the ticket number on the facebook thread that I told you about the issue and how purely unacceptable the support has been. And guess what NOTHING came of that. Auto closed after another. Maybe the reason is why you don’t have enough players in the game for testing is do to the fact that more than half of the people you send keys to can’t launch the game.

Being a person that backed your game when it was in closed alpha. Supported you by buying a founders pack. And got to only play the game twice. Being that in the alpha state there where some reason almost zero NA players and trying to play on the EU servers was a nightmare. Then you change to the Nexon launcher and getting the game to run stopped completely. Sending in ticket after ticket with nothing every happening or ever getting a reply from an actual person.

You honestly need to be getting a hold of Nexon and having a serious talk about the business choose allowing Nexon to deal with your game. If you ever hope to make a game and have people care about it and not be extremely frustrated to almost the point of pure disgusted hatred for your company do to any lack of care and respect towards your audience. What is it going to take for you to take the technical issues with the game and Nexon seriously?! When you have a game that has been in beta for 8 years, being on the verge of chapter 11? What is it going to take?!

Its even more rage inducing that all issues could be fixed if you just had a stand alone client launcher as you had in the alpha as an option for players that don’t care to have to deal with Nexon, and their horrible launcher with technical issues that they don’t care at all about and ever fixing. Honestly, at this point for me, either you need to get in person contact with me. Giving me a distract phone number and email to your CEO. So I know that you are going to finally start giving a **** about your players and your game. Or you are going to refund me my $200 that I paid to support you and this game because I did really like what you did with brink and wanted to see you succeed.

After having complained many times on the facebook page for this game. I finally get my ticket looked at. But Nexon service is horrible, they tell me that I don’t have the right DX installed. Funny how you would think that a gamer that has a gaming PC and that has been trying to fix this issue for going on to a year now. Wouldn’t have the newest updated DX?

But maybe you need to not start at the first level of support and get me the max level. Seeing how You ignored me and a issue that support should have been looking in at for a while now. Its also very upsetting that I had to write a massive complaint on a game devs facebook page and keep nagging them to get this far. I also don’t like the fact that why is my support ticket of a technical issue now being categorized in Ban or Suspension Appeals?!

I have not even been able to get any help from anyone and my account has seemed to be Banned or suspended for what reason?! For trying to get you to start doing your job and helping a customer that spent $200 on a game, out of support for a game studio and idea.

Sorry that you may think that I am being rude. But Its been well past my limit of being in anyway reasonably patient. An honestly it is gotten to the point where if something is not done to drastically improve my ropier with you. I am going to seek help in getting my money back.

After 2 weeks, they finally replay saying that its now my sound driver that is not up to date. You have got to be kidding me?! They most have known that, it was going to fix nothing and I was going to get even angrier since they closed the Support ticket with out ever letting me tell them and show them that my sound driver is up to date.

When is this game going to get any real support and help for players that have spent money on this game to support it, yet have never even once played it since it went to NEXON! When are the devs going to own up that there are massive issues with the NEXON Launcher and have a stand alone game launcher or have the game on steam so it works as it should. Nexon has other games on steam why not this one? I have no idea what anyone involved with this game is thinking, but I am beyond the point of giving anyone any respect at this point. :mad::mad::mad:

Here is the post on the facebook page that after 2 years and having to write complainant after another on the facebook page to get the one reply from Nexon. That has only mad me even more angry and feed up with this game, the devs and even more Nexon.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the Nexon launcher. Let’s see what we can do to get the problem addressed. From what you’ve written, it looks like you’ve gone through a lot already. I’ll try to start with the most recent and relevant points, but please bear with me if it seems like we’re covering the same ground with you; we need to get up to speed with what you’ve tried.

You mention at one point that you believe your account has been banned. Do you still believe that to be the case?

Looking at the FB post, you jump on the post in which someone mentions the Error 2 occurring. Is that the error that you’re experiencing?
If so, could you please try deleting the .hash file found at this location?

C:\Nexon\Library\dirtybomb\patchdata

If you aren’t getting the error 2 error message when attempting to load the game, what exactly happens when you try to launch Dirty Bomb? Have you even been able to install DB?

With regards the tickets that you submitted to Nexon, are you able to re-open them if you click on the ticket id on the left?

Bad internet support sucks.
I was lucky to get my EA account back, after my account got hacked.
EA’s internet support never responded to my emails.
Luckily I got tipped from friends to call EA Sweden (I live in same country), and they sorted it out in 20 min!

Hope you can have your game up and running today or tomorrow.

The Error that I get when launching the game is “X3DAudio 1.7.dll is missing from your computer” The Nexon support tells me that I have to install the newest audio drive. Yet they seemed to have not even looked at the Asus driver that I have for the sound card that I have since that driver has not changed out of its beta version since Jan.

An no The GM has locked the ticket, there is nothing that I can do to reopen it. I don’t believe that I am Banned, it seemed that they GM that closed the ticket moved it under that subject. I would not now why they would do this, but there are many things that I am at a lose in Nexon’s actions. What is the reason to auto close support tickets, and saying that they don’t deal in support for a beta. That to me seems like an awful why to do business. I know that Nexon is a pretty crappy company. But I could not think that they where this bad.


I find it funny that there was never any issues till the game want to Nexon. I also find it very strange that I have no issue running any Nexon game from steam. But when trying to launch any game from the Nexon launcher, it will not load. Why is that? Why is this game not on steam? Honestly I see this problem never getting fixed do to it seemly having to only deal with Nexon and they are refusing to own up to that there is issues with their awful launcher.

What is the reasoning for there not being a stand alone launcher for the game that has nothing to do with Nexon? The only times I could ever play the game, tho playing is not really what want on since there was never anyone on the US servers when I backed the game. Which I should have used that as a tell tale sign that this game was only going to be a huge problem. But I liked Brink and there is a lack of Co-op mission based games and this seemed to be something that I very much wanted to play. But now just having unacceptable support, only getting responses do to having to complaint on the facebook game that I do not like doing. If the only way to play the game is dealing with Nexon, I truly would love to play the game but I want nothing to do with Nexon. So if there is no other option other then running the game through the Nexon launcher. I just want my money back and waste my hands of having to deal with anything of this any longer.

I whole hearty want this game to be successful, and it sadness me to have ask for this. But I have no more options left. I don’t know if you are ever going to put the game on steam, or have a stand alone launcher that has nothing to do with Nexon. But from my experience and reading the forms. It looks like going to Nexon has only made players angry and disgusted with the game and your company. I don’t know why you choose to go to Nexon, but that was the worst decision that could have been made. They are only making everything so much worse and bring the game and the company down.

What I could see from a quick search, that file is part of directx9c, and not a audio hardware driver.

So, just for fun, try download directx9c http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

Yes, I have the newest version of DX. Tho, honestly why is the game using DX9? Wouldn’t it make the game better to be using 11? But even tho this game and any game from the Nexon Launcher will not load. The issue seems to be centered around the Nexon launcher. I have no issues loading any other games from any other launcher or .exe. I have also made sure that the launcher and the game .exe is being forced ran as admin and that still doesn’t even work.

the newest version of DX may not have that dll, install 9c

the launcher is a pos but try 9c

you may have to renew exceptions in your AV after updates

That installer doesn’t do anything it says that there is a newer version of DX on the system and closes.

Hmm ok. I do know some games do install directx 9c and vcredist, when installing game as well. Here is what I would test if I had your PC:
Open steam, and search for the game Braid. It has a demo available on its page in stream. Click install demo, and during installation (OR when trying to start the Braid game on your first time) it should give your system both DX 9c and some little package called “vcredist”. So try start it just once to make sure.

If DB still doesnt work after that I would try download the Nexon launcher again

Well if other games do install older versions of DX wouldn’t it already be on the system? I would guess that LoL, and other Nexon games that are on steam would be using a older version of DX. Wouldn’t they? I have had this same issue with a system that I had that was running win7. And have the same issue with a system with win8.1. I just had to stop using the Nexon launcher, tho I don’t play any Nexon games anymore. When the game had its own launcher there was never an issue. Tho I gave up trying to play it when it was in alpha do to there was never anyone on the US servers.

I am not a fan at all about all of these gaming companies having this thinking that they are somehow making their games and business better by forcing their own launcher on customers. In this case, it is only making the gaming experience worse. I feel that if the game was just on steam (as if should be) would fix a lot of the issues.

It would seem this is a DirectX issue, IIRC there is indeed issue with Windows 8 not coming with older files and also not allowing you to to install them if a newer version is found, if it were me I’d try uninstalling all DirectX installations then reinstalling each one in order starting with 9.0c. I usually do this on new installs, along with installing the visual c++ redistributables in order to avoid similar issues down the road.

Before uninstalling/repair DX, try running compability mode for the nexon launcher.

If Im not mistaken, in Win 8 you can simulate Win7 and even WinXP by running the program (nexon launcher) in compability mode.


here is a guide how to do it.

Heh, pretty much “jumping hoops” to make games work sometimes.

Ok, this seems odd to me since this issue was also happening on Win7 and is only an issue with the Nexon launcher. I could see saying that it is a DX issue if I was having this issue with any other game, but I am not. I am feel even more frustrated, do you not think that I have tried all of these things already? I am a person that has a higher than normal tech knowledge. I would not be dealing with any type of companies support if I have not already done all the normal things that I would be trying. To be truthful I hate, like actually hate dealing with any type of any support. They treat you like you are the stupidest person on the plant and go through all of this motion crap that I have already done. It makes it even worse when you go through all of that, being talked down to, being demeaning, and now having to be forced to post on the form which if I haven’t spent the money that I have on this game, I would just forget about it for how down right deplorable experience. And now getting this same demeaning attitude from people, I have no patience for it.

I understand that you are trying to help, but I’m beyond this and have been since the game has gone to the Nexon launcher. I am not trying to be rude, but it makes me very mad seeing the pure disrespect of posting something from a dummies site. So if you do not work at or for SD please do not post, thank you.

No one here meant any disrespect by anything that they’ve said.It’s unfortunate if you feel that to be the case.

Whenever one begins to troubleshoot a problem with someone, it’s generally best to start with the basics as no one here knows what kind of knowledge you have with regards to the many possible causes for the issue.

We’re all relatively tech savy here, but not all to the same degree. In all likelihood, there will usually be someone who knows a little bit more about any given issue. As such, assuming that someone has tried EVERYTHING that can possibly be attempted to resolve an issue is something that shouldn’t be done, the fix may well be just a hairsbreadth away.

While this issue does indeed appear to be rooted in Direct X, the pic of your audio driver selection did give me a moment to pause for thought. Those are beta drivers that you highlighted. Are there stable (non-beta) drivers available? Even if they’re older that’s fine.

I believe that Nexon have been back in touch with you and are eager to try and resolve your problem. I know you find their requests basic and frustrating, but following them will lead to the next stage, which may well be finding a solution. This may be frustrating, but I hope that you can soldier through and help them help you.

As for having an option other than the Nexon launcher. I’m afraid that’s not a possibility. Nexon is operating the game in North America, Europe and Australia, so the Nexon launcher is required in those regions.

Here’s to getting this issue addressed sooner rather than later :)!

There is no other audio drive for the sound card. It has been that way for months. If there would be a non-beta drive I would have been using is since I don’t like using beta drives for anything.

I have replied many times to Nexon’s so call support and have gotten no where. They are now telling me that I have to take my system to a PC professional. Sorry but this issue is only with your game and the launcher. If there was other issues I would be having then that option would make sense. But seeing that I do not, and your seeming unwillingness to actually looking at the launcher and seeing if there is an issue. Maybe not have it run in DX9? Do something to make the launcher run. Its it in a beta state? Also saying that it is not possible to have the game anywhere else but on Nexons launcher is ridiculous. Nexon has many of their other games on steam, so why is your game not there?

I am beyond my limit of tolerance, this is now going on a 3 year issue and nothing is being done. At this point I just want my money back and will never deal with your company and Nexon ever again. I should have known that you going to Nexon with this game was only going to end badly. I don’t care for the disrespect that I have gotten, and the down right disgusted with how I have been treated by Nexon.
