Should we only get load-out cards for mercs we own. [re-vamped]

(Witchy) #1

Based off the other poll I made, which was biased, and many liked to point it out due to wording of the disagree. This has been revamped with some interesting options from the other poll. It seems disagree and agree wasn’t enough.

The system sort of needs a redux, while can you go and buy for gp or cash a merc specific card, I wouldn’t mind having cheaper merc specific cases. Although I thing the easier route would probably be to make it so you shouldn’t be able to receive cards for mercs you don’t want and or need. While getting good cards for characters you haven’t bought incentives the purchase of characters, you can also receive an entire ship load of trade fodder for characters you couldn’t care about. In my personal opinion and out of experience, I don’t own phantom or bushy, the only two i’ve yet to buy, and yet i receive more phantom and bushy cards than anything else, which seems like a huge waste of my actual money and actual time.

Personally, I don’t really care what I get because there’s always a trade-up system. Sure it’s gonna take a long ass time and in-game currency to get a cobalt but I don’t have to whine because i’m getting the card or merc I want! Yes it may be a shit card but at least it reminds me of how many hrs I’ve put into the trade-up system. sure this game isn’t the best because of the recent new updates but hey, nothing is cooler then a cobalt card other then sparks right! ;^) Even if the creators of Dirty bomb and this goes to shit I still have my trade-up cards.

Of course I’d like to not get useless loadout cards. I’d like it if every case I opened contained the best cobalt loadout for a class I already have and enjoy. But it wouldn’t make any sense for Nexon and would lose them money.

(Ghosthree3) #5

Cross posting since you it’s the same topic and my opinion hasn’t changed…

Getting cards for classes you don’t have yet is a good thing because it means new players can start accumulating possible loadouts for classes they will buy eventually. Otherwise all new players would end up with a million useless Skyhammer and Aura cards and be screwed with new mercs.

(ChinChill) #6

I stand same as before. Getting cards for different mercs is hardly a problem as it adds incentive to try them out when on free rotation and, let’s be honest, with normal cases you’re mostly likely to get a Lead card anyway, maybe an Iron one if you’re lucky. At that rarity it hardly matters as you choose what Merc to make a card for when you trade up.

(And I’m speaking as someone who got a Gold card for Arty, a merc I have no idea how to play)

(DocEnglish) #7

80% chance of a merc you own?

(Snark) #8

The elite cases from bundles should be limited to the mercs in the bundle. Other elite cases, perhaps.

The rest, no. Discourages people from trying the free rotation merc pool. Trade up and buy for the mercs you want loadouts for.

(MarsRover) #9

That would be great. I bought the deployables bundle (Bushwhacker, Proxy, Sawbonez) and got two Silver Kira layouts. And of course I didn’t own Kira at the time

Other cases - hell no. Like was said above, that would mean new players would get a ton of duplicate cards for Skyhammer/Aura.

(Gi.Am) #10

You sir get a like for this poll.
My opinion hasn’t changed tho. Getting Loadouts for mercs you don’t own yet makes overall more sense. Both from the business side of things, getting a nice card for someone you don’t own yet might sway you in buying them. Aswell as the players view, having a nice selection of loadouts at ready when you get access to the merc either because of free rotation or you finally bought him.

(Mccoolenstein) #11

I’m so sleepy, I’m uncertain if I said anything in the other poll…

Anyways, I feel elite cases should be merc specific (in some way/shape/form/whatever) but agree that the standard cases should still just be whatever.

Think about it, someone manages to get a cobalt card for a merc that don’t yet have, and it’s also the loadout that’s considered “ideal” for that merc, that might be incentive enough to try it or buy it.

Merc specific elite cases (hopefully with a slightly reduced price) might give individuals like me and incentive to buy a couple, because I’ve put a few hours in, and know a few mercs that I simply do NOT want to use, therefore I dont’ want to spend money to possibly get loadouts I know I’ll NEVER use.

I’m going back to bed, glhf

My opinion stays the same, no.
When you can get loadouts for other classes it 1. Ruins the element of surprise
2. Promotes using the same mercs
3. When you buy a merc you won’t have a loadout card for him straight to go with.
I have obtained 2 silvers from cases so far. 1 Rhino, 1 Vassili. Both I do not own, I do intend on purchasing Rhino, halfway there, but I do not intend on buying Vassili (Aim isn’t good enough, sure I could practice but I don’t like being yelled at :stuck_out_tongue: ). This made me go “Huh, maybe I should try out Rhino, he looks like fun.”. It’s a good thing.
