Personally I want vote shuffle to be removed completely. I find it ridiculous to call a shuffle at the beginning of a round, because how do you know if the match is unbalanced when the match has just begun. Anything can happen. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started a round strong and ended up getting whooped once the first objective was completed. I also see players calling shuffles towards the end of the last objective simply because they are struggling to complete the last objective. If your team manages to get to the last objective, that proves to me that the teams are fairly balanced. I will be happy once this nearly useless “feature” gets removed.
Should voting to shuffle be disabled in the closing minutes of a game?
It will always amaze that I can’t call a second votekick for an AFK dude for ages (at least 120s), but someone can constantly spam shuffle votes. I’m glad that it will go away eventually, but for the moment it should be limited to 1 shuffle per team change - someone switching teams, someone leaving the server etc, plus of course time limit - at least 50% time left in the matcb.
Most likely, with the upcoming queue system, voting for a shuffle will go away as it would not make sense. So I doubt it will get removed until then.
The other night I was in a fairly even game and some guy who thought he was going to lose called a vote to shuffle and somehow it passed. I called him out on it (apparently he didn’t know you could see who called the vote in console) and he started being a huge jerk about it. Then, with about a minute left, somebody on his team called a vote to kick him and it passed.
I did not mind losing that game :)
Talking about satysfying things. My team was attacking on first stage of Terminal. Pretty even game with forward spawn changing owners constantly and a couple of disarmed plants. Apparently that was too unbalanced for one of my teammates so he calles shuffles until one passes. He gets switched to defenders. Server is generally disgruntled. Well fuck that, I start another shuffle and it passes again
He got switched back to attackers with not enough time to call another shuffle
Here’s a question.
Has anybody ever been in a game that ‘needed’ a shuffle, that had it pass and then the game improved?
Just played a game of Objective on Trainyard, joined the team on defence, at the 2nd objective.
The enemy team had done a fantastic job of stacking to ensure a win. We held them off somehow, then with 1.5 minutes to go a level 31 player who I won’t name called a shuffle that passed.
So we’ve got people intentionally stacking (same clan tag, they were called out for switching by my team mates) who can’t take a loss and then when they’ve lost 1 moron ruins the game for 3/4 people who had done a fantastic job against the odds.
I don’t care about any statistic in any video game but to see people getting away with this type of behaviour is just sad.
I can’t wait till they introduce the new system, and remove shuffles entirely.
This reminds me of that story of how one of those large-scale BATTLEFIELD games got screwed up by Team Switching.
Basically, because the battles require SO much planning in these 64 player matches, there was this elaborate plan discussed by one Team… then people switched… and squealed on each other’s plans with some immediately turned traitor and shooting each other.
Half the board was filled with excuses like:
“I switched teams to be with my buddy.”
Followed by:
“Yeah! But did you have to do it after hearing about our battle plans?!?”
I don’t even know why any of these games have Team Switching mid-game. Isn’t it enough that DB shuffles/rebalances teams between rounds?
@Maverix_GT I agree it could be strange to call a shuffle in the first minute of the game, but it’s a good way to balance team if they’re stacked (in stopwatch) and then restart the match to have a full balanced game.
If you wait, there will be people who feel injured of the shuffle.
I prefer a suffle-restart at the beginning of the game rather than a shuffle at the middle.

How do you know it’s imbalanced in the first minute? The game has barely started. I’ve been in many games with people doing first minute vote shuffles because they think it’s imbalanced and instead the game was very balanced and they ended up winning. Some people seem to think that if they get ran over on the first objective or it was defended too well that a game is immediately imbalanced. Which just isn’t the case. Sometimes the other team simply does better and does it faster…and things might change on the second obj.
Personally I think shuffle votes should be removed period.
People abuse em too much, keep making bs excuses to cover up the fact their teamwork sucks.
The shuffle at the beginning should be enough, only shuffle that should happen is when it’s a 2v4, 4v6, etc
I’d much prefer to see the shuffler being disable AFTER the first 10 minutes of any game. That way it gives people time to see whether they need to vote or not and prevents any unnecessary switches
Yes, that happens regularly on min 10 and 20 servers. People also switch sides quite often if team numbers and balance become uneven. I’d like to think this is because higher level players are more mature, but maybe it’s just because after a certain level you don’t care about 500 credits anymore.
in a ideal world its a good thing in reality this is what happens.
vote for shuffle
vote for shuffle
vote for shuffle
35x till game ends if you unlucky you end up after playing well and winning getting shuffled to losing side.had that many times.
just remove the function.its just mainly used as a troll thing .
Voteshuffle should just disappear , people mostly abuse it. It’s the same with surrender votes in other games , one thing goes miss and people immediately want to surrender and start whining about everything and don’t even try to win anymore
I want a forced shuffle like I did never before. Every goddamn game it’s either 2 less on my team or 50+s stacking in one team.
What do you mean? The only reason I ever saw it used is because the attackers were on point and completed first obj before the cut off time for a restart vote. If defense fell asleep and lost first obj early on, they would vote to restart (with some idiot on attackers voting yes with them) and then attackers had to re-do first obj. Restart map was even more abused than vote shuffle.
