Should the Tutorial be Required?

I disagree, previous game experience doesn’t necessarily teach you the mechanics of another. Admittedly the current tutorial doesn’t really cover them all either, it really should teach the long jump.

But many people coming from games like CoD will assume that iron sighting is the best way to aim. And its not.
I don’t see a downside to it being required. In some games that make you do the tutorial, at max you’re like “well this is bunch of bologna!”, but it’s not like you instantly exit and delete the game because of that

Because it’s pretty well known that people that plays a lot of FPS games are omnicient and knows everything.
