Current system is complete BS we are in a bunch of rounds at the moment and 1 dude is afk for like 5 games in a row but we can’t manage to get him kicked.
Should the game auto kick AFK players?

Not bad enough to leave though, the polite thing to do would be leave game when your phone rings because until your kicked someone can not come in to replace you. and being a player down for even a minute is enough to turn the tide of battle.

It is not a biased poll because the statement is a fact. AFK means you ARE down a man, this is a fact. I inserted the _____ because I am trying to encourage someone who votes no to explain WHY you don’t want to kick AFK’ers.

Perhaps when someone selects vote to kick it’s asks for a reason and that is displayed next to the vote window. Could be limited to 10 characters… people could type AFK, Dick, Troll whatever. A quick multiple choice set of radio boxes.

There is exactly zero reason for someone to be afk in a public match. Very, very rapid removal.
30 seconds is the absolute maximum. And maybe fixing their “spectators take up slots” design debacle would work as a pool to push them into while they wake up.

Except the fact that I’m almost always carrying my team anyway… Not sure why you are looking to attack me here though, I’ve expressed that this needs to be fixed, and don’t feel like I should have to quit a match every time I “might” be AFK for 10 seconds.
A quick 10 second interruption might turn into something longer due to my work. I have no way of knowing how long it will be and sometimes it is a quick thing and I’m able to come back and finish the match.
If the AFK kick system worked properly this would be a non issue.

I’m not trying to be a dick, just want to play the game like everyone else.
There is certainly a bug though causing it to not AFK kick at times and it should be addressed.

So you are fully aware that:
- you may be away for a long time
- you may not be kicked across multiple matches
Yet you still can’t be bothered to leave manually. Guess what that makes you?
No, you would still be a dick, just of a slightly smaller caliber.
But you are not in a position to play it like everyone else. But you choose to be selfish and make the game less fun for everyone in the server.

When we pick teams for pickup basketball I sometimes go in and then sit on the court for the first 1-5 minutes of the game. And I am totally not a dick for doing it.

Look, I work from home, which means I’m at work 24/7. I’m also playing in a public match, not competitive and I have the potential of interruptions happening at any time, day or night.
If the game kicked properly this would not be an issue, as it would just kick me and someone would take my place, this is not what is happening however, which is why it should be looked into and fixed.
I don’t see why I should forfeit all my credits, and mission progress every time my phone rings for a 10 second task. While it may be inconvenient for my team to not have me there briefly I could also argue that when I AM there I end up doing most of the work myself.
For some reason people are treating public matches as super important and you should get kicked immediately after 30 seconds, when really public matches should be more relaxed.
If you want an environment where everyone should be on the ball and available through the whole match get a team together and play competitive.
If my AFK is too inconvenient you always have the option to vote kick me as well, and lets face it, if people can’t get a vote to go through on a player that might be AFK the whole match, then that team is probably doomed to fail anyway as they are unable to pay attention to anything, communicate or coordinate with one another.
Long story short… fix AFK kicking.

Other than people hitting F2 to pick a merc when the vote is up, I pretty much agree 100% with your assessment. That’s basically why I started this poll. People aren’t competent enough to vote, therefore please have the game do it for them.
