Should I Open a Separate Gmail Account For Starting a Youtube Channel?

Cause currently, my email is bombarded by a lot of academic stuff, and I don’t want my YouTube notification bombard it even more. I was wondering if most YouTubers open another gmail account for their YouTube channel?

Dear god yes.

(XavienX) #3

@Sniff Oh yea, how do you make your username just in one name, cuz Google + forces you to put first and last name.

(_Sniff_) #4

Dunno that. My first name is set to Howto and my last name is Sniff

(XavienX) #5

@Sniff Then how come there isn’t a space between them…?

(_Sniff_) #6

There is between Howto and Sniff

(XavienX) #7

@Sniff Now I feel like a idiot. But big YouTubers like Pewdiepie and VanossGaming don’t have any spaces?

(_Sniff_) #8

Maybe there’s an option on creation or for new youtube accounts to have such a name. If they have it then it has to be possible.

@Sniff Huh, saw a video where it said you put a period in your last name area and it won’t show anything, but Google won’t let me change it cuz I changed my username too many times in a short period of time. Mainly cuz I was trying to figure that stuff out.

There are a couple things new youtubers can’t do. I think one of them is uploading videos longer than 15 mins(unless they changed it recently). I just remember unlocking certain things the more videos I uploaded. Honestly for me I used gmail and all the emails go to the promotion tab which doesn’t bother me at all.

Dunno about new accounts. But my legacy account let me keep my username as my display name instead of forcing a real name. Perhaps new accounts get the same prompt?

You just need to verify your account to upload more than 15 minutes.
