Should I make Deathmatch Maps?

I was thinking about making a few deathmatch maps.
I was just wondering if i spent some time making them would people actually play?
Or do u just play Obj maps

You’re asking mappers, but you should probably ask the gamers.

From a gameplay standpoint, deathmatch gametypes don’t really work well with class-based games.

Might as well just play on a max lives server since most people don’t bother with completing the objective but simply go panzer and splat people :smiley:

There is a need for these types of maps.
I accidentally released a very small map (one room) because I forgot to password my server. (Yes, i was a noob then.) This map is soo bad. It has nothing in it. Still, people play on it (I see it occationally, on some servers). In the beginning I was surprised. Why do they play this ultracrappy map!? I guess people like to log on and just frag away.
Deeper interpretation? Well, in a world of order (school, job, family), ten leisure minutes of meaningless flamer/smg/panzer computer game madness - in a small, crappy deathmatch map, will always be a tension reliefer to some. // L.

I’ll tell you why small deathmatch maps are good. People like small maps because they are always fast and always easy. I find myself turned off of larger more complex maps --I like hosting a small server and fragging my bro on maps like gammajump, nerfpractice, and pool. They load quickly and require hardly any mind power. I say go ahead with the DM maps! But remember a room isn’t very exciting… don’t forget the eye candy. ^^

Lol, yes it was. Pure mistake to make it public.
I made it in July. In the autumn, I saw that some dude called Ronald had submitted it to several map servers as his. For example here:

Yes, he even included a ReadMe, where it says “Map by Ronald… bla bla.” Talk about things that make you go “Hm?”.
I wrote to him (I suspected that it was a kid), and suggested we made a real map together. He was, and we did. Eventually we released AttackFinal.
He never apologized not wrote to map servers (to ask them to remove the false credits.)

PS. Later, I saw that he also submitted the map Pool Desu as his, though I doubt that that one is made by him.
