Should Fragger and Thunder swap LMG's?

(Talak) #1

I was having a discussion on the forums about how weak Thunder’s kit is compared to Fragger’s, so I decided to make a poll. Redcap mentioned that Fragger originally had the MK46 and Thunder the K-121. Why this change was made, I have no idea.

Fragger doesn’t need a weapon that can deal 34 damage with a headshot. The MK46’s ammo capacity and fire rate is better suited for finishing off players injured by his frag grenade. Splash Damage should change it back.

How about both Mercs have access to both LMGs via Loadout Card?

nah keep em as is, but just buff the MK46 to be a bit stronger :stuck_out_tongue:

Pleaseeeeeeeeee no. I love my K121 and don’t like the MK46

If the MK46’s damage is increased, we’ll have another KEK-10 situtation. At the moment, the MK46 deals 11 damage to the body, 22 to the head.

At it’s current fire rate, it would eclipse every weapon in the game. The weapons in this game are averaging around 130 damage per second to the body with the exception of the minigun. Go any higher than the 133 dps it does now and there’s going to be balancing issues. If one weapon’s dps is increased, all of them have to be raised in order to compete and that would shorten the time to kill.

The rage from the sweatiest of them all would be delicious.

Yes, Thudner HAS to rely on his weapons, Fragger does not. There’s a reason Thunder has a Timik rather than an M4 since technically it does do more damage per bullet. Fragger doesn’t need the higher damaging LMG, the MK46 suits his style far better than it suits Thunder’s.

I wish they would swap them back to their rightful owners like they were in the alpha

Why give thunder a bad weapon? please don’t. I find MK46 10x better than K-GKY.

(bizarreRectangle) #10

If MK46 was a weak gun then yes you would be correct. However that is not the case, MK46 is a strong gun. I think the high rof fits him better, also the high mag size allows you to mow down concussed enemies.

I feel it should be better to just buff MK and make it more reliable.

(Ritobasu) #12

It would make far more sense for the LMGs to be swapped, but that won’t happen at all. Only thing to do is just buff the Mk46 to be competitive and arguably stronger than the K121

(Talak) #13

The K-121 has a faster time to kill than the MK46. I can take out five to six players that have full health with a single drum magazine. Fragger doesn’t need that kind of fire power with his frag.

Thunder is slow and has a huge ass hitbox. He should be assaulting people from range, Fragger’s smaller hitbox and Close-Range reliant ability is more suited to CQC assault guns.

Even though I picked Yes, I would rather see a series 2 set of loadout cards that gave both of them access to both weapons.

Make the MK46 better.

(bizarreRectangle) #16

@talak Is that even possible? Sure faster time to kill but it has a lower rof. If you miss a few shots you’re dead meat. I don’t see a problem with fragger getting a strong gun.

At cqc mk46 is probably better, and thunder is more suited to that. Close quarters is his thing as he has to get close on stunned enemies. Fragger can simply blast them from a distance.

Only takes 3 to 4 shots to put down every mercenary except for Fragger, Thunder and Rhino. At most I use no more than 10 bullets to take a player out.

For me, current Thunder is just what I hoped from both Fragger and Rhino. A gun with a large clip and enough HP bulk to rush headfirst running and gunning into my own death.

With Fragger, the clip size has always been a limiting factor. (For me.)

With Rhino, the sound and time it takes for the minigun to spin up makes it less ideal for offensive roles. (For me.)

With Thunder, the MK46 has the clip size I long for, and with the loadout that has Though, Drilled, and Extra Clip augments. It just works for me. Though lets me recover HP, Extra Clip means I will not run out of ammo so easily, and Drilled somewhat takes care of the very slow reload time. (The Flash/EMP is just a cherry on top.)

Hence, to me, this change would be a mutual nerf for both Fragger and Thunder. Fragger doesn’t have the right augments, and Thunder doesn’t have big enough clip size.
