Should expert cases drop in competitive?

People from Australia are acting like the whole playerbase is like Australias. Sorry, but outside of Australia the waiting times aren’t that long.

right, its not like a party of two had to wait literally an hour yesterday… oh wait. we did, then we gave up with out a match
I believe you. And I know Australian people are only a few who play comp. And playing on EU/US isn’t an option for you, ping-wise. But I can say, my experience is based on EU and US comp games (I play US at night when EU is empty) anf have no problems at finding easy matches.
I’m in Texas, USA :(
Well, I have no idea then. I have no problems at all. Although US sucks with 150 ping, I find games pretty fast when EU is asleep.

Well you seem to be lucky then but I’m still sceptical when DB doesn’t even peak at 5000 simultaneous users according to Steam stats. And yes the change would hurt SD as it would damage their revenue source but in saying that SD need to be more creative with their cosmetics. Custom deployable models, med packs and other throw downs would be a good start. Additional voice over taunts would work and perhaps character animations.

Dota 2’s cosmetic system seems far more appealing. I myself wouldn’t be opposed to purchasable maps if that spurred map creation along. I feel that weapon/perk/merc balancing has required too much resources and they would have been better to just make them cosmetic.

I want this game to succeed but the rate of progress seems troubling. The small player base is also troubling and I see it shrinking rather than growing. I hope SDhave some big things coming soon. An improved match maker both casual and competitive is fine and all but this game needs more maps than anything else right now. Actually that’s not quite true - SD needs some exceptional marketing. I wish DB was at Pax Melbourne but there was no presence… Not even pre installed on the public PCs. Wasted opportunity to build some fame (Australia has been pretty big on SD games in the past with a large number of servers in proportion to our population).

SD can’t rely on history to sell the game and I think they’ve relied too much on that history.

No F-ing way. Most of the players are expecting proper content like maps and new mercs, on top of bugfixing right now. If you take the overall potential playerbase, not the already playing one, that’s what make people come back or try the game. Or leave because it’s on hold. Check graphs after the dome/stoker update. There were a notable increase in player numbers due to the content it provided. Cosmetics should be far on the priority list.

Besides, MM is almost impossible to do right now, even in EU. Tried a couple of times recently, even during most populated hours, never had a single game :(.
