While I don’t think it really needed to be changed, I’d still like to see other game modes. Something like Capture the Flag, but tweaked to fit Dirty Bomb… It could be be 2 bases, and 1 carriable objective in each team for the other to steal.
It isn’t a simple issue of capturing it and returning it to your base however, as bases would likely be guarded with things like mounted guns… and actually scoring a capture would require time to pass with the enemy’s objective in place… sort of like a hack timer.

Snake beat me to it! Explosives are/were insane in Execution. People keep talking about the laser and airstrikes, but Fragger’s nade, Nader’s launcher, and Fletcher’s stickies were the most OP equipment in the gamemode (don’t even get me started on Proxy’s mines). The maps are narrow and you’ll often find yourself in tight corridors to get to the objective. This created a lot of immediate and timed explosives at these locations.
Biggest example would be Market where if you go left to A, you’ll have to channel your entire team through a small turn where explosive mercs ruled. Now, the easiest way to beat this without retreating is to use a fast merc like Kira and rush to A as quickly as possible. Kira was always the most effective here because if you could long jump out of the building and drop a laser quickly enough, you can wipe the other team if they’re anywhere near A.
Anyways, replacing Execution with another gamemode like CTF would be nice. I hate having only one option when playing DB. Don’t get me wrong, Obj/Stopwatch is fun, but a change of pace or something different occasionally is better.
