One thing that bug me was visible enemy health.
In other online FPS you don’t see enemy health. Isn’t this a bit advantage? What was the reasoning behind it?
Should enemy health be invisible?
You can see enemy health in the Battlefield 3 and 4, by the way. You know, much bigger fish in this FPS pool by the way too.
There are many shooters where you see that.
I like it. It gives you many strategic advantages. You know if you need to throw a stickie for example, or just shoot him once and spare the cooldown.
Honestly, I think it’d be a cool perk for Recon, or a good buff for spotting abilities.
There are games like Q3 where health is purely audio. I wouldn’t mind that. A little low HP scream so you know somebody is low HP but if you chase and they get healed you might be in a world of hurt.
While this would be quite nice, nothing purely audio in dirty bomb is going to be anything other than broken.
Way I see it, seeing health bars is sort of necessary in a wave based shooter. Either when flanking or pushing as a group, you want to take down the weakened ones first. You want to know whether it’s worth chasing or not, whether you can afford to play aggressive and push them for that long spawn. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the wave based spawns I’d say whatever, but as it stands, I feel it’d take more away from the strategic choices than add to it.
maybe because every merc has a different amount of health? I’d rather not have to do guesswork for if I should fight this rhino at half health and kill him with a single mag, or fight him at full health and die trying to reload.
Enemy he-…what?! I have no idea how you people even have time to even look at an enemy’s health bar!
Dirty Bomb is so fucking fast. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s not dead and gray on the ground then I should keep shooting at it til it is.
i like it, but it is annoying as hell. getting a headshot on a rhino/thunder with the felix and seeing that 1mm of hp-bar left im like ‘frickin die already’. its so annoying when you are on a nice montage clip spree and you have to headshot the guy twice
As others have stated the Health Bar is a visual indicator by which you can decide and plan your engagements, in my opinion it is a Very useful tool, i would hate not to have it actually since you then would be engaging in Blind combat with lesser information to decide your strategies.
You need enemy/friendly healthbars because in DB there is a huge time to kill. It’s one of the main reasons i love this game so much.
Where else can u turn the flank around and get a sweet revenge

I like the way you think
It’s fine the way it is, the only thing I really think that needs changing is for health bars to be easier to digest, instead of
“Let’s make the health bar a solid color and to show how much it’s been depleted with a slightly smaller bar”
It could’ve been in a red/blue or white box or if I remember correctly in earlier stages the missing health was a grayed out box over characters but nah that’s too easy to understand.
Agreed with @Amerika. I wouldn’t mind audio cues instead of visual. But I’m not really fussed either way.
