@FrostyVampire well only being able to have one engie adds a interesting dynamic that allows attackers to get their foot in on a strong defence or a defending team to delay the objective by long spawning the engie. so it make the game more tense and strategic

and for the op, god yes db needs this, 5v5 preferably with friendly fire on.
The game is balanced around 5v5 and feels a hell of a lot better. The only reason I played 6v6 was min 10 and it wasn’t as much as a clown fiesta as 7v7 or 8v8 servers.
I may be weird, but I like 6v6 more than 5v5 or any other setup. Because I find 6v6 the most entertaining. 5v5 belongs to ranked, imo.
@Beryl thats fair enough but ranked is usually dead when it comes to player so having a 5vs5 environment for new player to learn in would boost the player count

@Daga ranked was actually getting shorter queue times until sd decided to close it down.
5v5 is balanced well balanced for competitive gaming and tournament team play. 1 for each class
Don’t forget that players can switch mercs.
Edit: A solution that I believe won’t affect the current number of servers is to conveft a few 6v6 into 5v5 + 2 spectators which will cater for tournaments, or the casual weekend brawl at the pubs. Anyway, it’s easy to add more servers as the population of players grow.
@K1X455 I though the setup was mainly Saw, Frag, Arty, engineer, second medic.
I enjoy 5v5 more than anything and I’ve been asking for it in pub since day 1 haha. I really dislike 8v8, 7v7 is a last resort for me, and I’ll always pick 6v6 if there is a spot open in a 6v6 server, but I would rather 5v5 if it was there. Personally I just find games more balanced and less clustered when there is less people in the server, so I’m all for it.
2 Medicas
First DPS=Fragger(might also have a thunder)
Sec DPS usually a fire support or might be sniper ( could also be a thunder)
Then One engineer play on both side if the map is only about the c4. However, if it is the map like chapel, once engineer is on defense side, he/she would switch to other combat mercs depending on what team wants and your preference
This is as far as I know how PUG works, and I think it is great.
5v5 servers would be enjoyable, though I don’t mind 6v6 servers. Especially since the game is build around 5v5.
I love love to see some casual 5v5 servers, and I mean they are keeping some of the larger servers based on demand, so why not try the same with 5v5 servers?
i prefer a lot 6vs6 so team be like 2 medics (one for healing one for reving maybe aura + sparks) an eng a recon an airsupport and a tank/assault
@KUST__LunarTM it doesn’t have to be that way all the time. I’m just saying the 5v5 can represent 5 different classes the game offers as it is most balanced.
