yeah, you need to be so MLGMLGMLG that you pretty much fuck over the other team so much by murdering them all to topscore without going any support/objectives.
the only times ive ever out did my support/game mode exp with combat exp was when i got 24 kills on a turret
It would need a little tweaking on each merc’s score gain, but it’s very doable.
In my experience, playing medic is way too easy compared to other mercs such as Fragger and Nader. Just heal someone and it’s going to be like you already killed another with how much you score. Health insurance doesn’t help it either.

Play as skyhammer in chapel and you’re top score, even if you’re just average. And there’s some actions that help your team but doesn’t give exp. The top score is not the best player.
Personally I’d love it since I feel as though I’d be very likely to benefit greatly. Everyone should get a badge at the end called, “Participation Award” that is worth +200 XP.
Playing well should be encouraged and this is a way to do it. I like the idea of rewarding good players in the same way I like the missions inspiring people to play every mode and every type of character. But sadly they don’t really work…

I think you should grade people’s performance in the long run. The only thing you have at the moment is XP which does nothing but give guaranteed cases on level up. I’d say just implement an algorithm which takes several factors into account; Recent playtime, amount of wins, score gained within matches, variety of character-picks and then get a bit more generous with handing out cases.
tldr: Reward long term teamplayers, don’t encourage short term farming.
Instead of going by points, why not “play of the match”? PoTM can be decided by things such as most kills within the shortest amount of time or most revives, ect. but is only available when more than 4 people on each team. It limits the XP farming problem to a certain extent.
I’d be more on board with this if it was, “best medic” “best combat” “best engineer” “best killer” but even then it would heavily favor certain mercs potentially and you’d just see a rash of ammo spamming Skyhammer’s or healing stations covering the whole map. This is a F2P game and how fast you gain income is definitely important and if casual word got around that one merc was favored over others it would create a lot of resentment for people who want to play other mercs (regardless of if it’s true or not) and a lot of matches with a ton of the same mercs.
So I like the idea of encouraging players to play better. I just don’t like it for a F2P game that could potentially become such a huge negative from a feature that was supposed to be nice. I’d rather not chance it.

Yea. Something like that.
People hate high level players enough as it is… Not that a high level player will always top the score board, but there is a higher chance of that happening due to the experience of the player.
I’ve seen people give up or even quit as soon as they see a high level player in the server.
This is gonna lead to everyone playing engineer and then the games will be aweful because nobody wants to play the frontline tanks. There’s already games where this happens. Fuck that.

This doesn’t make sense some mercs just earn more by using their skill… I can already see everyone wanting to be Aura farming bonuses. Not to mention this would encourage steam stacking more.
