Shotgun tips and tactics?

So I’m trying to get the last achievement I need, and I want to start to use the shotgun as I haven’t tried it yet. The achievement is the hard difficulty one, so how hard is the Mossington to use?

Tip #1 dont use the shotgun lol.

But on a serious note be a medium operative it should allow you to get close to the enemies and then blast em in the back. Or a medium engy and have a super buffed shotty. Also slide into ppl and shoot em that seems to be a good tactic with the shotty since its OHK ability seems to be random.

The pellets do the same damage to legs/torso/head so don’t bother aiming for the head. No need to crouch or ironsight, just use the standard shotgun tactic of getting close and blast their chest/back.

Shotgun benefits from being sneaky. You might want to use Silent Running, and play as an (!) Operative. Operatives are about being sneaky. Disguise yourself and backstab with shotgun.

Also blast and strafe every time. Don’t just stand there.

I like to melee then shot downed opponents.

Pack a better secondary weapon.

I wish I was joking, but I’m not. The shotgun damage falloff is ridiculous, to the point where you’ll barely chip the enemy’s teeth past spitting distance. My advice? Baiting and lure tactics. Wait on a corner when you know an enemy’s coming and then step out right as they get within melee range.

That or play exclusively as a Rank 4 Engineer.

Thanks guys, il have a go at being an operative. I normally play as either a medic or soldier but should make a change.

Don’t use the shotgun atm :stuck_out_tongue: As you want the achievement, do the operative tactic as it is absolutely useless unless you shove it into an enemy.

The damage it does is such a coin toss, even when close.

More damage on medium distance would be neat, shotguns could use some love from SD.
