Before the forum switch there was a Meet the Mercs page on the website. On Sparks part of the page it roughly said. “She has friends in high and low places that helped her get her hands on it.”

Imo I don’t think she got it from Proxy or Aura, but another place, mabye from someone important in the DB universe.

I thought aura’s identity was stolen by sparks, and sparks used it to steal the reviver? (aura had her identity stolen and her name disappeared of all the research she did.) and proxy later helped sparks to fine tune it and make it more suited for her needs? (these are the two theories i remember, i could be remembering them wrong though.)
