Shields after being revived.

In the past few games I’ve noticed that shields after being revived don’t really do anything.

I’ve gotten revived and before I could even move I was clubbed by an Aura and killed.

The last time this happened I was revived, turned to grab a health pack, and was dead before I could even turn 90 degrees.

I’m not firing my gun, I’m not doing anything combat related, just moving, and the shields seem to not do anything.

Whats up with that?

Invulnerability shield. Happens for multiple seconds when you spawn in, and for half a second or so when you get revived. (havent counted, someone else has to offer more presice info on that)

This is to offer a chance to escape or pick a target and overall just orientate yourself when getting up from the escaped death. It wears off the very moment you interact with an objective, use ability or fire your gun. Or if you do none and just move, it stays for that half of a second.

You sure you didnt i.e throw hp pack to yourself (were you to be playing such merc) or similar? Its pretty fastly depleted after rez though, so I think you might’ve used an ability or didnt simply notice it wearing off.

No. Specifically the the first example where I didn’t even have time to move at all.

The second example I was Nader, so no, I didn’t throw a health pack. I literally turned and was dead.

I love how any time someone asks a question that is mildly critical the answer is “you are too stupid to know what you did.”

I also love how some people take any answer as sarcastic/snarky if they feel like it.

Keep your eye on that and try to catch some footage. Haven’t seen myself or heard anyone else seeing issues with it, but it could just as well be unlucky, somehow specific situations you get it in bugged form.

Well… it is you bontsa… :stuck_out_tongue:

getting some footage would be helpful. There is only so much you can do with just words. Some times it is better ti see.

Would not be surprised if the thing is bugged.

It exists to screw over people that have to play with 100+ ping like me; Whenever I try to gib someone as they’re being revived the server computes the revive shield before my last few shots that should have gibbed them :c

I’m thinking this game is just really bad at math in general. I just played a match where I got 4 headshots on a Sparks with a Timik.

Thats 28 dmg per shot. She should have been dead after 3 shots. No, there were no health packs (i know because she was a jumpy mc jumperson and was in the air firing at me, not throwing a pack), we weren’t near a heath station, etc. I feel like I get a lot of false positives on hits.
I’m the kind of guy who does the math quickly after a kill or death and it rarely adds up to the stats on the wiki. So either the wiki is wrong or British maths really are different than American.

it could be a ping problem since she was moving if its not maybe a bug

What we tested out with @FireWorks a whiile while back is that DB has indeed silly ways of doing damage rounding. For an example I actually remember, tested with @Kirays about Nader nade’s direct hit dmg against Kira with Unshakeable (-15% explosive dmg received). Normally hit does 90dmg, now it was seemingly randomly other times at 76 dmg and other times 77 damage done.

Not that the math inconsistency has that much to do with spawn/invul shield being potentially broken but it is there yeah.

After getting revived, you can still get gibbed until you return to the first person camera. In other words, the spawn shield only activates after the get-up animation is completed, until then the enemies can finish you.

Happens all the time with phoenix self revive, if you recieve the last shot while getting up, you get finished (not incapped, because you die before the revive) and the self revive cooldown starts too. Even more annoying if you miss the spawn timer by a few seconds because of this.

With high ping it feels really inconsistent, my bet is that you died before the spawn shield activated.

Did you die a second time? As in did it show up in the killfeed? If not then most likely what happened is the shield didn’t engage yet while you were standing up. There is a window where you can get revived, start to stand up and still get gibbed. If you did die a second time and you weren’t ever able to move then it’s possible that this is a new bug or a ping related issue like others have stated (ping on your side or theirs).
