Shaders (surprising eh?)

(Grand_Mister_P) #1

Sorry for yet another pesky thread about shaders! Basically i formatted my drive recently due to a windows install error and ever since then shaders aint been working. Ill boot the map up in ET to check it, and it just blurrs horribly where the shader is supposedto be (its just a simple sky) fueldump_clouds in this instance. I remember very vaguely reading about the fact that it has to be mentioned in a script somewhere or something… Ive done nothing else that needs scripting (unless med/ammo cabs need it, i forget ive been out of the loop for 3 weeks) to make this a nice simple map.

So, which nice person is going to help me this time?

Maybe you start with checking paths and folders completely. What also helps to get help is posting a pic of your blurring. Depending of what kind of blurring it is there also could be a leak.
…ssssooooo I basicly suggest you describe a bit more precisely what you did before it started blurring and especially what you tried to get rid of the blurring again.

Check paths against what? all ive done is what i was told and extract pk0.pk3 into the right place. As of yet no extra maps or anything. Surely it wouldnt compile if there was a leak? Ill get on a picture shortly, my friend who has webspace (few days till BB and ill have some of my own!!!) has just gone out to a rugby match! Hope he wins!

Do you have low quality skies on or off?

No idea, where do i check?

Check the cvar r_fastSky. 0 = “normal sky”, 1 = “low quality sky”. Or in the game: options --> view --> low quality sky.
