Shader image missing error!

(saigo) #1

I have been trying to get rid of it, but nothing seems to be working, or I am doing it all wrong.

I am using WIN7 btw, so you should know that it has some issues with GTKRadiant 1.4 (and others too)

The problem is simple. I am able to make brushes, but I can’t put on any textures. It will list them in the texture window, but all of them have “Shared image missing” red/black icon, and when I apply them, I’ll get the same thing. What to do?

I have installed wolf to C:/mapping/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory and GTKRadiant to C:/mapping/GTKRadiant - 1.4.0

Please help me out. :frowning:

Have you extracted the pak00.pk3? Is there a shaderlist.txt in your C:/mapping/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/scripts? Does it contain all the ET shaders? Does Radiant loads ET?

Hi Mateos! Thank you for your fast reply!

I haven’t extracted pak0.pk3 file… (last time when I mapped, I didn’t do it either, but the year was 2009 and I was running it under XP) where should I extract it? (please use as specific answers as possible, so I wouldn’t make any silly mistakes… it’s just a precaution.

I do not have a scripts folder in C:/mapping/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/scripts, but i Have one in C:/mapping/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/scripts folder, and yes, it has the shaderlist.txt file and it seems to contain all of the shaders.

Does Radiant load ET? What do you mean by that?

Usually to avoid loading error the pak00 can be extracted in etmain, I have textures and models folder extracted in my etmain.

Yeah, I forgot the /etmain, it’s OK.

Do you have the ET splash screen when you start Gtk 1.4?

I did extract the pak0.pk3 file to etmain folder. Didn’t have any effect to the 1.4 version, so I reinstalled 1.3 version and now it seems to be working ok. I am still missing some, but I have plenty to work with.

Thank you SOOOO much for your help.
