Shader Help

(DarkangelUK) #1

hey there, im need of desperate help here with shaders. I’ve created both green and blue texture pk3’s so i can do some chroma keying when making a movie, but the problem is all the shadows etc are still on there. Now apparently you can adjust the shader files or make a shader file so all the textures will show as pure blue and green, would anyone be kind enough to create one for me so i can get these pks fully released? Here’s a couple of screenshots to show what i mean

As you can see there’s lots of dark and light areas, and on fueldump the road actually shows as dark brown. Here’s the pk3’s below… i hope someone can help.

I thought this is done trough

surfaceparm nolightmap

Cool

You could try replacing the .tga files in maps/mapname/ with names like lm_0000.tga
Those are the lightmaps. Try making them compleatly white.

If the fueldump road shows as dark brown, its either the lightmap, or you missed a texture.

I would’ve thought any missed textures would have shown as normal. Suppose i can have a look later, im a bit scunnered just now after converting it all… so was hoping it was something as simple as a shader file… and was also hoping someone would throw me a bone and make it for me :slight_smile:

Well, it’s too late for me now, maybe I’ll try tomorrow if someone else hasn’t done so.

Unnecessary IMO :moo:

I guess that’s what you want (only did some parts):

I used a single 2x2 pixel image and a shader which you can get here. I made a shader for every texture, parts of the terrain and the sky I wanted to appear green which looks like this:

textures/broken_castle/wall_c03d
{
	surfaceparm nolightmap
	surfaceparm nomarks
	sort 16

	{
		map textures/shaderman/green.tga
	}
}

I think there will be some textures which are not located in the textures folder (I’m too lazy to serach for it now :D) but need a shader too, like this flagpole:

Another thing I noticed was distance clipping which may depend on my game settgins. I bet someone else knows how to turn it off.

I hope it helps.

With cheats enabled:

r_wolffog 0
r_zfar 100000

I think 50000 would be all you’d need for radar. Just turn it up if you want to see further.
