severe stutters and input lag since last update

(mentalist) #1

Since the latest update (Summer Squash Pt1), I’m experiencing severe stutters and input lag on my low spec computer. This occurs randomly throughout the game, roughly every 10 or 15 seconds, and especially during airtrikes, etc. and when enemy players appear on the screen. Mouse input feels extremely inconsistent and almost freezes on enemy contact.

I have since tried to delete my configuration files and reconfiguring everything, and setting the process priority of ShooterGame.exe on high, but the problems persist.

While the overall performance of the game has been slowly decreasing with updates during the last year or so, the game was running smoothly before the patch. The current experience is very frustrating and unfortunately not worthwhile for me.

I have also tried installing the latest graphics drivers. Other games run as smoothly as ever. Using Windows 7 Pro SP1.

It seems to happen to a lot of people (including me).
No fix yet (is there any?), but still trying things.

For me, using sick6’s configs seems to lessen the issue a bit.

I shall summon the code wizards.

Might be a silly question but have you checked all your graphics settings? I turn literally everything off and everything is on the lowest possible settings but after that last update more than half the settings turned themselves back on and I was getting more than 100fps less than I normally do which was also causing great input lag on my mouse.

Adding

-cpuCount=4 -threads=4 -nosplash

to launch options seems to help a bit on my end. You should give it a try.

you might want to adjust the cpu count and threads to your PCU

Mine is fairly smooth although i get random 2 second freezes

Config files were altered by a recent update and even after switching everything back I have micro stuttering and hit registration issues that I’ve never encountered before. Reinstalling the game, deleting .ini files, and changing config again helped but still not running as well as before ReV for me.

Yep same here

Any news on this, dear developers? Could this have to do with the UI? (wild guess on my side without really having a clue about anything, based on the fact that the UI seems to be updating real-time again, but performing horrendously)

According to this, cpuCount and thread aren’t valid command line options. I’ve tried -useallavailablecores, which seems to help a tiny bit. Could be my imagination, tho.

It may be useful if everyone experiencing the same issues posted their specs. Might possibly help to isolate the problem.

After completly removing UI, there was no improvement.

After the latest update for Win7, the game seems to be running normally again…

i’ve tried removing the ui and pretty much every other fix but sadly, the stutters and lag persist. i hope there’s a solution to this issue asap
