Setting up server filters

(Amerika) #1

Today I learned something new on the stream that a few of you might have already been aware of but might not have been using (I missed the mention of this in the patch notes). You can easily filter out servers you do want to see or do not want to see.

I am a player who resides in the US so naturally I’d want to play on US servers most of the time. My account is also over level 5 so there is no need to see level 5 servers. So, if I wanted to setup a filter to remove everything that isn’t a US server and also isn’t a max level 5 server it would look like below. And yes, you can copy and paste into DB as DB supports copy/paste.

-“aus” -“eu” -“asia” -“max level 5” -“South AM”

If you wanted to remove all of the 7v7 and 8v8 servers you’d add.

-“7v7” -“8v8”

Now, lets say you only wanted to ever play on Min Level 10 servers you’d do the following by itself.

+“Min Level 10”

You can create your own filters in this manner and they are saved between games and DB sessions so you won’t ever have to enter them again.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Rather than subtracting the regions you don’t want, just put the region you do want first.

ex. “US East Obj” -min -max

This gives only US East objective servers, without min 10 or max 5 servers.

Yes but single words don’t need to be in quote strings. -max will work for example.

Also adding a string without a - makes it essentially a +. So putting “US -” will show all US servers.

The thing is that, whenever I add Min Level 10, it just shows all Max Level 5 servers…

Type min and -max.

There is all kinds of ways to use the filters. I setup what Dave used on stream today and it worked nicely and allows for some customization.

Does anyone know why gamemode filter goes back to whatever? It’s kind of annoying.

(Ghosthree3) #8

The browser settings seem to reset of their own accord. It seems though that changing the filter box will save all the other settings.

btw if anything contains -min you will also filter out all servers running terminal.

(Ghosthree3) #10

Hm, use -"min " then, the trailing space should fix it.

we get folks in here all the time messing this up so a good thread to sticky maybe?
