setting server to allow downloads from website not working

disclaimer:im a noob.
first i made a webpage “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/index.html” then i uploaded my map file to website with secure ftp . then i changed my server config file but still client download are not going to website.I know im missing something here cause im new to all of this.please help.

umm are you trying to make the client download from your http server while still in game or launch a new page with your site on and a link to download?

because if your trying to get the client to auto downlod the map the url base should be either http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/ or http://home.comcast.net/ then you would need to make a folder called “etmain” and put the maps in there

im trying to make client download while in game. and im confused my pk3 is already in the “etmain folder”. do u mean i should make a folder on the website called “etmain”?

well i tried uploading a “etmain” folder with my pk3 in it to website. i tried changing to set sv_wwwBaseURL “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/” and set sv_wwwBaseURL “http://home.comcast.net/” none of these changes worked.

If the pk3 file is located at: “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/etmain/yourfile.pk3” then the server confing should be: set sv_wwwBaseURL “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/

as far as i know its located at “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/index.html” which is my webpage address.but I tried changing it to “http://home.comcast.net/~murph2013/” and no go.

thanks all with everyones help i got it to redirect downloads to my website…but now it downloads the same pk3 over and over. any ideas???
EDIT:it was because pke files didnt match from website to server.
now i cant get server to show up on list WTF???
