Setting Just For Skins

(EverythingElse) #1

So I have a really potato pc (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-desktop-intel-pentium-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/2153018.p?id=1219530046281)
And I really luv skins, so when I turn on the high quality materials settings, my pc goes from okay potatoe to like a toads left kidney.
I was thinking there maybe could be some setting to turn skins from lower quality to higher quality just for the weapons, a setting different from high quality materials.
Thanks

you can always upgrade you pc, but really the only skin that you should care is the shard cobalt, because only this skin looks bad on low settings( some ppl like that space look)

idk maybe there is a way, maybe some smart guy will come in, but… skins dont give you shit :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m fairly certain HQ materials is the only setting for more shinier guns.
Unfortunately it causes a FPS drop for some people.

I can tell you some ways to boost your FPS, though.
Be aware that these will make your game look horrible, gun skins included.

First of all, open the console by pressing the ~ key and type in texturepoolsize 1
Do that in the main game menu to have it take effect the next game you play.

Furthermore you can lower the ScreenPercentage number in the ShooterEngine file.

To make it look like the above screenshot, change it to 50.000000
You can even go lower but I do not recommend that.

I kind of found a way to get alot of fps and still be able to use the High Quality Materials Setting.
I put my game to 4:3 but then made the game border less I believe, or it might have been full screen idk.

Okay so I have this config from a while ago that gives me good FPS with HQ materials on making your guns shiny but not the graphics
However use at your own risk cause some guy told me it destroyed his game for some reason which is unclear to me but it works fine for me:
