SetFOVSensitivityScale - [Raw Input?]

Hello guys so like you may have seen I have been having a few issues with the feel of XT as well as most unreal engine games. However after spending a long time trying to get it to as near to “ok” as possible I did notice that Aiming Down Sights on all weapons that change FOV relate to the SetFovSensitivityScale variable?

At all values bar “1” smoothing is present… However due to the change in FOV your sensitivity ends up being far to high when you zoom if you are having it set to “1” (specially with longer zooms). Not only is smoothing present but so is Angle snapping (or so it seems)

Best way to test this is to go into the game get the sniper rifle out and zoom into a wall and move your mouse very slowly left to right. Now what this COULD be (just using a little so called common sense) that while using the SetFOVSensitivityScale and your movement = 0.00349132 is the game seeing that as 0.00 after it goes though the process? this would also explain inconsistency if large amounts of decimal places are not being counted. Just a thought and likely wrong but hey.

You can do the test yourself play with different numbers on the SetFOVSensitivityScale and figure it out yourselves…

This does not explain the sloppy feeling during normal FOV however I suppose in a small way they could be related.

And how does ADS feel if you set FovSensitivityScale=1, but half your normal Sensitivity?

I ask because my thoughts regards FovSensitivityScale are that it’s there to adjust ADS sensitivity relative to hipfire sensitivity, for example if you have sensitivity setup such that at hipfire you get 10cm/360 then with FovSensitivityScale=0 you’ll also have 10cm/360, but with FovSensitivityScale=-1 you’d have 5cm/360 in ADS (and still 10cm/360 in hipfire), or with FovSensitivityScale=1 you’d have 20cm/360 (and again still 10cm/360 for hipfire).

I’m only guessing because it’s something that we were told would eventually be a menu option, but it’s available yet. So I’m wondering if it’s just the high sensitivity that makes it feel smoother, whilst in reality this wouldn’t be playable.

(Haven’t tested any of this in-game so numbers are just made-up)

I think you are correct in theory but the maths is a little off… if you had -1 you would actually be inverted… strangely having it set to 0 is around 50% I feel and haveing it set to 1 is kinda 1:1 sensitivity between hip and ads.

Even though I was not having the same level smoothing issues with hip I was having it with ADS… Its really strange really :S
