Server shutdown problem

(Deadwalking) #161

Woohoo as I went to check my servers yesterday and they had fallen to the Steam Disconnect issue.

(linuz) #162

Just want to add here that i also have problem with my servers. I have two brink servers who keeps crashing. Even after patch. Atleast 2-3 times every day

(ButchCassidy) #163

Yep the problem steam disconnects/game shutdowns has returned?

It seems something that was done either in the last update or by steam in their the last update?

Either way this really should not be happening at this stage of the games life…You guys are really killing your own game here…I noticed that Brink has taken a further tumble in the steam online players list…Its now played less than Killing Floor!!!

(Rosie the Riveter) #164

That’s good news
Before this last update our 2 servers were running with only one “disconnect” per day
Now they are disconnecting 3 or 4 times a day. I just leave them off after the last disconnect happens in the wee hours.

3 typical errors are the Allocation error, lost connection to STEAM or bad peer described in previous posts.

(zenixthepowner) #165

My servers disconnected a few times again.

(Major_Day) #166

It would be a good idea to ANNOUNCE the next update when its ready, a lot of ppl. never knew about the last two updates.

What I don’t understand is that SD are releasing these server patches and we are still having crashing problems. Do SD actually have any servers of their own to test the patches before being released or are they just hoping that in theory their patch should fix it? Surely they must be testing this stuff?

Very frustrating and discouraging.

(rookie1) #168

since last patch my server stop once or two time daily every evening around same time

(Lokalen) #169

My servers are running worse that after the hotfix. As with rookie1 ours are crashing once or twice about every other day or so.

Compared to how it was in the beginning it is however still an improvement. Let’s hope they still ahve attention on this and work for a better stability that won’t require as much baby-sitting.

(ButchCassidy) #170

Boy are these guys making it hard to support this game…

It seems that we go 1 step forward and two steps back…:frowning:

yea, i agree. They are disconnecting more often the last few days.

^but i think the develop team is still working … maybe

Maybe a Programmer could wirte a little comment

(Mustang) #173

It’s definitely a known issue and already been said that the fix might get into the next update
We just have the ride the patience boat until the next update gets finalised/approved

(Lokalen) #174

Looking at the numbers at Steam I fear the worst for Brink. I just hope that the DLC will get people back and that we, with new servers that are stable, can keep them here. I know BF3 will be a tough obstacle to tackle but I wouldn’t mind playing Brink until it is released. Imo, the best FPS on the market now.

Crossing fingers for an update this week from devs. Maybe a little sharing of what they are working on at least.

(Temp1337) #175

cant keep my gameserver online:

Steam has been disconnected for > 30000 ms. Disconnecting net session.

exery 60 Seconds disconnect.

(sausje) #176

Same problem just now this has been happening all the time.

Problem globally with steam?

(Temp1337) #177

maybe only germany?

(rookie1) #178

no…mine drop 2 time today so far…:S

(Trinidad) #179

I still have a Brink Server on, but player number has dropped a lot. I also stopped playing Brink, its just 2 anoying.

(egghead) #180

I run several HL2 Mod servers and this happens 3-6 times a day on them too but they don’t shutdown because of it. Steamworks wasn’t that good idea after all, wasn’t it?
