Server Lags when "<<playername>> could not authenticate player comes up

I noticed since the last patch, my server has had some sporadic lag problems.

What I have noticed is it always coincides with a message on the screen that “such and such player could not be authenticated”. I thought maybe they cant be authed because of the lag but its so consistent that these two events occur together and lag occurs at no other time.

Anyone else noticed this?

I havent noticed the lag but I have noticed from last night that I had 5 players on who had hijacked the server and on two occasions it said a player could not be authenticated, authentication failed & then it disconnected the player.

That and after about 3 maps with bots it is almost inevitable that the server will give the old AllocRenderModel Crash which I actually had not had for a whole week till this latest patch.

I have noticed this kind of lag, as well. Though, not necessarily limited to the “authentication failed” situation. My friends and I all have noticed hitching in the game whenever someone joins or leaves a server. It only last a split second at a time, but if people are joining en mass, it’s a bit much.

I should note that we are PC players.

Quick update on the lag we have identified server logging as being one cause of player join / leave lag, we have turned this off on all servers now to help eliminate this component at least.
