Server .bat file closes instantly

Hey guys
I got the server rocking on 1 G5 server but im having isues on my older serevr
HP DL140 G2 dual 2.8 800fbs xeons. 4gig mem
Its runing a css server on it fine on diferent ports.
when i click on the brink_ded.bat files it just flash’s up then closes and the game does not start
iv have multiple servers on another box in a dif hosting which works fine
id luv to get another couple servers up please.
any help would be apreciated

If you are using steam try using the HLDS update tool to download it instead of the steam downloader i had the same issues its something to do with one of the files being massive it like gets corupted easily threw steam using the HLDS update tool fixed this issue for me

hldsupdatetool -command update -game brink -dir <installdir>

I did use the hldsupdatetool thansk
I tried a complete install again with it and thats doing it to :frowning:
I know the hardware is fine. any other idaes pls

Not currently like i said i had to redownload it if the file pak000.sdpk2 is not at least 1.269gigs its not right

Try running it from a command prompt. Often you will at least be able to see the error.

Are you running the CSS server simultaneously? If so, Source games operate on the same port as Brink (27015/6 etc). Try running the second or third batch file which changes the ports. It probably tries to open the ports, sees they’re already open then spits the dummy and closes.

Its runing on diferent ports and i tried turning it off
I will copy the good server i have running at my other hosting in the morning when they are quite and se if it works on the box
Iv never had isues install dedicated servers before on the box Its been rock solid since the day i bought it new :frowning:

Ok i copied a good running server from a diferent location/server and deleated the blob file updated it and still turns off instantly. blink.exe wont start at dos prompt eather so im guessing it doesnt like older cpu 2.8 800fsb xeon or some compatability problem.
any ideas please?

2003 server needs visual basic C++ 2008 x86
