FPS issue. For example, I was having between 110 ~ 120 FPS running with low setting at first, then I restart the game.

After I restart the game, some sh itty thing happened. I saw 80~90 FPS while I was playing (???), and that 80~90 FPS was running with minimal setting.

Radeon ™ RX 480 Graphics

Intel® Core™ i5-6402P CPU @ 2.80GHz

8.0 GB

Pretty sure I am supposed to play the game with max 180 FPS.

This isn’t the first time. It is an issue that has been there since I started to play the game.

(After like an hour I decided to open DB again, I have max 180 FPS)

i’ve experienced some sort of fps locked at 80-90 after using steam overlay, and i would need to restart my game and not use the steam overlay anymore for the game to go back to 180 fps. That’s the only similar thing that happened to me

Damn… you’re lucky you’re getting 80~90 fps… Mine dips as far 0.4 fps…

Have you checked out the Tech Support L E S S forum lately for symptoms?

I’ve pinpointed the cause to be DPC stacking due to calls to NDIS.sys. I have played games that require higher responses, but this game sure is exceptionally good at crashing Win10. I even tried playing Massive/Ubisoft’s The Division for 12 hours straight and I experienced a noticeable choke just once, a spike maybe three times (because someone in the net started their P2P thingy), but that’s about it.

Some players are reporting DPC stacking due to peripheral i/o so you might need to check that as well. I’m currently investigating if keyboard and mouse polling rate has any effect on DPC or input lag.

are you alt-tabbing? there are some known FPS drops if you alt-tab while maps are loading.

(pumpkinmeerkat) #5

If you haven’t already make sure none of your video settings have changed. Updates have been changing a few settings to high or on.

Still working out if this is a GeForce Experience or DB issue in my case so may not apply.

(AlphaUT) #6

Nope. Although alt-tabbing is still an issue, but the problem that I had wasn’t alt-tabbing. It just happened without any sense.

(K1X455) #7

Alt-Tabbing invokes a hard-page fault in Windows. If you don’t have sufficient memory and alt-tabbing between apps like Chrome (which is a known mem-hog, it will surely impact your game performance). But even 16GB is sufficient for a 24page open in Chrome. Also, the code behind ShooterGame-Win32-Shipping.exe is a bit dubious.

The thing with alt tabbing shouldn’t be a problem if you use boradless mode instead of full screen. This is how to fix it when it comes to me.

we have borderless mode?
