When’s it happening? I don’t really care about skins, but since I already own some Obsidians and Cobalts, I wouldn’t mind using them. But instead I’m stuck with Bronze because I will always choose the loadout over the skin. We all know it’s fucking retarded to combine them both into one card. So when are they getting separated?
Separation of skins and loadouts
Have they ever said they will? Fact that we’ve had two back to back events with special loadouts tells me they’re here to stay at the moment.
Tis not a perfect system but it functions…could use a little bit of a RNG reduction or something, but it’s not like you’re losing out on some special power or trait by not using those higher end cards.
I’m pretty sure they said they will. They actually already had this kind of system back in Alpha, they will consider bringing it back but right now it’s not such a big concern.
If they separated skins from loadouts, would there ever be new obsidians for the mercs who already have one? As it is now, they could release obsidians for every loadout there is and you kind of could still recognize the original ones due to their loadouts. If they separate it, would you be in favor of no more obsidians for the 6(?) we already have?
I think it would be cool to have the tiers and then buy the skins for that tier e.g. Crown gold for credits or real money. Would add functionality to the market too.
Wait what. I’m confused. Even if they did, how do you separate them?
If the cards are blank skinned and you want to equip a certain skin how do you, because you can’t buy silver and higher?
Or do skins join the market like loadout cards, so you can buy bronze skins or something and trade them up?
Sorry just can’t comprehend how it works. I’m sure someone can explain it to me
I’d love to see this feature, but as of right now, I’m glad they’re focusing on other parts of the game, bugs, balance, maps.
I also think it’s kind of hard to come up with a good system, like should the skins come from the cases or the loadouts, or both with separate cases. What should be the exact value of a skin? I mean, between two cobalt skins, Shard is just simply blue while Fragment has more visual elements in it. Just because cobalt is currently considered the highest rarity, it’s just a recolor in the end. Many people prefer Swiss Gold over either cobalts so should cobalt really be higher in value? I personally actually like Iron skin on many of my guns and currently it’s the second cheapest skin.
My idea:
Maybe just keep the loadouts in cases with their RNG and have tier 1 to tier 3 loadouts(by augments). Use X amount of X tier loadouts to either trade up for a specific skin or a trade up option for a higher tier loadout or just a reroll loadout option for a specific merc.
Honestly I think there are quite a lot of thing to consider here to make a system that would feel fair and I’m too lazy to put much thought into it right now. Coming up with a system from scratch is a pain in the ass.
They should just make it more expensive to upgrade to higher raritys, but have everything on sale. All cards, all skins.
Come at me haters, I know there is going to be abuse for that and plenty of reasons against it (things wouldn’t be rare, everyone would have them etc).
But the store gets really stale once you have most of everything. I have every merc now, and my favourite loadout for every merc in bronze, and then since then I have obviously done a fair bit of trading with all the new cards I get and now have 4-5 pages of cobalt/gold/silver cards etc on top of that.
But what is left in the store to spend my credits on? I have all the cards I want in bronze, and half of them again in higher raritys from trading, every single merc, so now what? All I can do is buy cases since all their holiday specials are for real money only (you can’t buy the packs with in game credits as you know) so it’s just stale. There’s no point buying bronze cards for 17,500 credits, because you’re better off just buying 9 random cases and trading them up to iron, and then using those to trade up to bronze (works out to be 11,500 credits maximum if all 9 cases were only lead)
But even trading is getting stale. It just adds to the collection of unwanted silver/gold/cobalt cards.
If the silver cards were 50,000 credits, gold were 125,000 credits, and cobalt were 250,000 credits or something, then sure it’s ridiculous, but at least the people who already own everything have something to work for now.
Once you own everything there isn’t even any point doing your missions. You simply don’t need the credits as there is nothing left to buy.
