Security or Resistance?

(Cheerio) #21

I like the resistance aesthetic. Its rag tag and awesome. While I prefer the security a little more motive wise. They are just trying to protect everyone because (spoiler: the outside world is awful and they were tortured and killed) so they told them there is not outside and they were keeping people in line and they HAD to resort to violence
That is why they are what-if

“WE WILL HAVE JUSTICE! IN THIS WORLD…OR THE NEXT!”

blows up the ARK

Chen: i was bluffing you crazy peice of ****!

Ironiclly the guy who is worried in the beggining and his brother is in the security, turns out to be a madman who will kill everyone.
I just mean they sound MORE radical in the What Ifs. Listen through Chen’s audio logs. The man is insane.

I don’t have many resistance orientated audio tapes, gitta play more tommarow.

And some time this week my main ps3 gets repaired! So what i do on Brink actually will matter.

As a military man… Security all the way.

To me, the Resistance seem to want to take over the Ark for their own self-righteous greed while hiding behind the label of “freedom fighters”.

Choose a side…

S) Secure the Ark and maintain the limited resources so that the population can survive until a new energy source arises…

R) Use up resources that will increase the hardships of the Ark in a selfish attempt to find something that is unlikely to exist…

(plus… I would think finding more people to put on the Ark would stretch the resources even thinner)

My Opinion

Ahh, a fellow fox!

I’d just like to say I have great respect for your service. I wanted to enlist, but suffer from an IBD that disqualifies me. What was your position and where did you serve? (Pm me if you’d rather).

On topic… I’m getting more and more sympathetic toward the Security forces. I knew they’d have decent reason (the game wouldn’t work if it were black and white) but hearing them helps hit home.

We’ll see, I’m currently waiting impatiently for my mail to arrive with my pre-order. Loooong morning.

Resistance all the way

What about the rest of you? :v

(TheBigLebowski) #28

I am an anarchist, hate government and security apes. So resistance all the way.

I was an Apache Gunship Weapons Tech… and i was stranded in KS for most of my career lol. Been to Iraq twice though.

Anyway, I couldnt help but notice that most people wave off the ‘What-ifs’ but if you compare them, they turn out to be pretty one sided. Security never do anything like “The resistance is hiding in CCity so we need to go in there and purge the place to put it down once and for all” or anything like that… Its always “Stop them from blowing up reactor… rescue pilot and recover downed helo… defend the sec tower… etc”

The resistance however, have missions that use a missile to kill noncombatants in the founders tower (very 9-11ish imho) and they also attempt to take out the Ark reactor and kill EVERYONE, even their own back at the CCity.

I understand that SD wanted to make both sides even on their virtues and evils… but my goodness, its very one sided actually

Eh… But I prefer order over chaos… I have seen anarchy in front of me and trust me… it may sound cool… but once it happens, youll be in a corner crying.

Security, i love ‘The Shield’ outfit, except the helmet, that looks a bit funny, but to be honest, id let the resistance leave, what would they say if they got to land and tortured?

“Where is the Ark?!”
“In the ocean”
“Where in the ocean?!?”
points “Thatway”
“C’mon guys! TO THE OCEAN! ITS NOT LIKE ITS HUGE! WE CAN FIND THE ARK!”
