Security Alert - 0xE019100B - Suspicious Program

(moonstoneCzar) #1

Hello,

Just recently I attempted to start the game through steam and I’m getting this error. It is simply state as “Error: Suspicious program detected. Please close any other programs you have running and restart the game.”

I take a look in my task bar to see what is running and I’ve got literally two programs running: Steam and Ad-Aware. Initially I had Spotify open as well, but I closed that. I also disabled ad-aware. I’m still getting this error, though.

Here is a list of the processes I’m currently running:

Any ideas?

Try killing xm.exe

I’ve never seen/heard of it before, but from what I’ve read, it can open a backdoor to your PC. That might be what’s triggering XIGNCODE

If that doesn’t work, try killing Ad-Aware. That could also be triggering it.

Hmm, I looked into it. xm.exe is actually something that appears to be associated with Xigncode or Dirty Bomb. If the game closes (as it does currently) it produces the error screen as such: http://i.imgur.com/xQqrzkL.png

However, upon closing it the xm.exe goes away so I can only assume that that is what it is.

Sorry, double post. New to the whole waiting to be approved thing.

(dukemaroon) #5

Have you tried verifying your Game Cache via Steam?

(moonstoneCzar) #6

Just did, everything was fine. Ad-aware was disabled and killed in the system processes screen and I still had the error popping up. I’m a little baffled at this point.

(dukemaroon) #7

Do you have Afterburner running? Or Mumble or Team Speak?

If you don’t have any of those, try restarting

(moonstoneCzar) #8

Well, restarting didn’t seem to work. It let me load all the way to the main title screen in the game and then closed out with the same error. And I don’t know what afterburner is, and I don’t have mumble or teamspeak running either.

(dukemaroon) #9

Well I’m utterly confused. Try killing Dropbox…It might help

If that doesn’t work, try going through your tray and kill each program one by one until you’ve got nothing left.

(moonstoneCzar) #10

Haha, just tried that as well. No luck. Thanks for the attempt at helping. I am confused as well, so at least I’m not alone!

20 minute late double-post. Wow.

(dirtyToad) #12

I got that error last night for the first time.

My fix was to kill 2 processes:

  • AutoHotKey (I wrote a quick launcher script for Enemy Territory to join the few servers I play on)
  • HIS iTurbo (the HIS OC app).

I haven’t pinpointed which one is the culprit but my guess is AutoHotKey.
I will report and confirm over the week end.

(moonstoneCzar) #13

Hmm. I don’t see either of those in my processes, so I’m not sure that fix will work for me.

The irritating part about this is that I’ve not installed or updated anything since yesterday, and I was playing the game just fine yesterday.

Further, support basically told me to close any extra programs. Which I specifically stated I already had done. I hate being treated like I’m dumb.

Kraken Sys Audio Launcher - do you have a Razer Kraken USB headset by any chance?

(moonstoneCzar) #15

That I do, I have a Death Adder and Cyclosa as well.

I disabled Kraken Sys Audio and it still didn’t work out of curiosity. Anyone else have any ideas? I e-mailed support and they have literally done nothing to help as of yet.

(PALADiN) #16

Where did you get AlarmClock.exe? I don’t remember seeing that in a Windows installation.

(glamorousFlipper) #17

Autoclicker.exe caused it for me.

Tick show all processes for starters…
