Just a few shots from the first of a 3 map campaign I’m working on. This forest area shown is pretty much completed. I may still add more plants and trees as the project progresses. The structural work of the map is completed as well but there is still alot to do, but once I get the ‘base’ and indoor sections of the map completed i’ll post some shots of those as well.

=O sexy tree lol, although you should have posted all screenshots when you have main structural sections done too as this doesn’t give much insight into the whole map unless its a forest map =P

It is a forest map :stuck_out_tongue: Basicly its a forest off of a lake with an axis base installation w/ bunkers, underground tunnels, caverns, ect. once you get further inland.

Forrest looks cool, my only comment is that a lot of trees in the sreenies look like there leaning in strange directions IMO they need to be straight to give the right effect.

i cant say i noticed this, nice fogging, looks cool. I look forward to playing it!

The thing to be really careful off with a lot of trees if the framerate. Check your r_speeds regularly as tree models soon eat up the polys :confused:

hehe, tell me about it. This is the big reason why I had to exclude the grass foliage. If I could have added that and have a dense array of trees and plants, I would have been golden. But currently, as it sits, I’ve seen r_speeds peak at about 29k with all constructables built. on average im fluctuating 20k - 25k. So it’s still in quite a permissible range. :bump:

It seems you are making good job with this map, it can be nice :drink:

I think that if the map is mostly in the forest, it would be great if you added some trenches

I had actually planned on adding some trenches to the map origionally. I may or may not still do so. It all depends on where and if the map will need them. But its still a good possibility they will be added. Thats a great pic you posted to work off of btw :wink:

i was thinking about making a threnches map, i wanted to make BoB scenario when the fight germans i trenches and blow up german 88’s

The map looks great so far but could you compress the jpegs a little; I feel like I’m back on my 56k.
