Sector 47 Beta II is live!

Here is the second beta of Sector 47. Small list of changes as follows…

  • Entire cave area was removed to localize gameplay
  • Moved the alternate allied spawn to balance gameplay
  • Added ‘broken walls’ to the forest for cover from gunfire
  • Changed vault door location for slight gameplay balance
  • Added grass for detail and improved realism
  • Tweaked VIS for lower r_speeds
  • Added clips where needed to prevent exploits and ‘trick-jumps’

Quib: Is there a point to destroying the communication tower? It seems like you can remove that objective w/o affecting the gameplay too much.

Probably too many open spaces but not sure on that.

Other than those things I like it: many routes, few choke points, defendable. I dare-say, bearing some tweaks, this is a good map for not only pub play but also competition.

Destroying the comm. tower changes the allied respawn time from 25 to 20.

If that is all it does, then it should be listed as
a Secondary Objective instead of Primary. Anything
not necessary to complete the goals should be Secondary.

Those are actually refering to images/shaders for models and not models directly. Just thought you might want a heads up.

I guess the problem is that Axis most likely won’t attempt to defend the comm. tower given the distance and such. Adding another spawn point could help, but that might not mean anything since Axis will always focus the defense on the doc-runner and that extra spawn would probably give them another option to defend, pushing the map in their favours.

As I was pubbing on this map I thought it could add another primary dynamite objective and something else to highten the action (where and what that is I’m not sure–sorry).

By any chance will the gunboat be movable in later versions?
