SDK map builder?

(AE.) #1

Hey Guys,

I tried searching the forums for this topic but was always forwarded to a 404 error so excuse me if this has been already discussed.

I’ve been playing brink since it came out and although it was very buggy on the PC the initial patches and the recent update have made the game a delight to play, I got a bunch of guys at my work to buy it also so we could play during our lunch breaks.

Being a fellow developer myself i would love to see a map editor for the game or some sort of mod tools as im sure alot of other people would to, Seeing as brink has sold 1.18m total on all platforms probably more with the recent sale on PC ( stats taken from VGChartz) it would really benefit the community for there to be some sort of release of a map editor.

Although i know releasing something like this would be a huge headache if it wasn’t already in the pipeline to be released, im sure alot of modders would love to make there own maps.

if not im sure people would be happy with just more DLC :stuck_out_tongue:

just my two cents.

Cheers,

Arman

I would also like to have a SDK.
I’d be interested in doing a few maps, mainly the scripting polishing and FPS optimizing the maps, as these are my specialities.

I liked quake4 alot, the smoothest id-tech engine 4 experience of all games I tried so far, Doom3 was horrible in comparison, all that lag, and reaction time delays and those anoying flickering lights

It would be interesting to take a look at the changes sp did to the engine.

If it does come about, be prepared for an editor that outdoes doomedit and quakeedit in about every aspect, Editworld (ETQW) of which Brink’s is based from is just about the best idtech map editor I’ve used.
